    Authentic American music with a bona fide, genuine, one-of-a-kind, one-man-band! Willie's roots are in the hills of northern lower Michigan, home to Amish communities and farmers who migrated to the city for jobs at the new horseless-carriage factories early in the 20th century. Willie's grandparents settled in that icon of today's great depression: Flint, the newest home of the blues. He began playing guitar as a teenager and in the 1980's released one record with the punk rock band "Toll". In the 90's he had a commercial success as front man for his blues/rock show band. Their "Something for Everyone" release, included the single "Talk Louder", the classical crossover instrumental "25 Strings", and the popular "Buick City Blues". All three received airplay. "Talk Louder" eventually charted at #15 on the AAA radio charts. After that success, the band went on hiatus for several years and Willie found other work as an artist and actor. The band eventually released a new single titled "Waitin' On You". Then an accident left Willie's left hand paralyzed. Nov. 2010 - Willie wins the Though he never missed a performance date, Willie depended on a brace to hold his fingers Canada South Blues in place on the guitar as he learned to play the piano and harmonica. After a long year as a Society Solo/Duo one-handed musician his arm slowly began to mend and Willie was able to "relearn" how to Challenge and is off to handle the guitar. That sobering year of uncertainty inspired Willie to "never take a moment represent Canada at the of life or music for granted".

[0:00:31] Colburn talks about the formation of his band, the Hill Country Revue. He explains that the band formed when Cody Dickinson (of the North Mississippi Allstars) decided to start the band as a side project when Cody’s brother, Luther Dickinson (also of the North Mississippi Allstars) was playing with the Black Crowes. Colburn says that what started as a side-project became “a full-time gig” for himself and the rest of the band. Colburn mentions that he met Cody and Luther threw a mutual friend Aaron Julison (who plays with Kid Rock). Julison produced Colburn’s first record, Dixie Hustler, in Detroit. Colburn states that he really didn’t start listening to blues music until the early 90s, when he listened to R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, and Fred McDowell. Aside from B.B. King, Colburn asserts that the Hill Country sound was, “the first blues I heard” and he says that the North Mississippi blues was the first to really “hit” him. This love of Hill Country blues made Colburn accept Cody’s offer to join the Hill Country Revue. Because of this, Colburn quit his job and moved from Flint, Michigan to Memphis (where he lives today). He says that the Hill Country sound “means a lot” to him. [0:02:08] Colburn explains that the Hill Country sound appeals to him because it is “hypnotic” and is like “a trance music.” He says that when he first heard it, it “spoke” to him.
