Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletic conference made up of 12 teams from North and South Carolina. These teams include: Anderson Uni- versity, Barton College, , Coker College, Converse Col- lege, , Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, Mount Olive College, Pfeiffer University, Queens University of Charlotte, and St. Andrews . Each of the fifteen Conference Carolinas sports has a season-ending tournament that leads to automatic NCAA qualification in Men’s Basketball, Women’s Bas- ketball, Softball, and Volleyball and NCAA regional and national selection op- portunities in Women’s Cross Country, Men’s Cross Country, Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s Lacrosse, Women’s Soccer, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Golf, Men’s Golf, Women’s Tennis, Men’s Tennis, and Baseball. Conference Commissioner Dr. Alan Patterson says this about the conference, “Conference Carolinas is recognized regionally and nationally as a premier NCAA Division II conference which champions scholarship athletics working in concert with student athletes committed to academic success.” Conference Carolinas has roots in the Old North State Conference formed in 1938. The name changed to the Carolinas Conference with the first inclusion of South Carolina members, and in 1994 became the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference as Virginia mem- bership was included and championship play was shifted to NCAA Division II. Since 2003, no conference schools have been located in Virginia. Since Virginia is no longer represented within the conference, a name change to “Conference Carolinas” was recommended and was implemented for the 2007-2008 academic year.

Limestone College is an accredited, independent, coeduca- tional, four-year liberal arts institution chartered by the state of Dixie Lodge South Carolina.
