The rule of thirds says if you divide your page into thirds either vertically or horizontally you can achieve optical alignment that is pleasing to the eye. There are always rules to provide guidelines, but do what looks and feels right for your design.

The Basics: Basically speaking YOU need to know the basics before w designing basically w GREAT pages~! e Serif vs. Sans Serife i i 8. Serif type is typically known as more formal and therefore will be found in textbooks and v documentations. The majorityv say a serif type styles are easier on the eyes when reading a lot of words and paragraphs, but you decide. Serif type has the 'tails' just like you are reading now. Most of this e book is done in Serif, eTimes New Roman, Size 14. r 9. Sans Serif rtype is known as a modern style of type. Sans, meaning without, --the letters have no tails just like this sentence. Due to the 'block' nature of Sans Serif type

10. Mixing serif and sans serif type styles can be done—cautiously. Meaning when assigning type keep it simple. Remember increasing the size accentuates the title, but also adding bold to the title makes it appear larger. So choose to do one, or the other, or both! 16. Play with title sizes and fonts. You will find something that works well if you think: Is this type readable in all formats? Because type content is used across many platforms such as for print, in websites, for e books, or PDFs, using a common is practical. w
