With rapidly evolving technology and the continuous need for innovation the department has always produced quality professionals, holding important positions in computer science and IT industry in India and abroad. The department started two years M. Tech. in Computer Engineering programme in the year 2010, with the objective of providing opportunities to the graduate students to pursue research career in the domain of Computer Engineering. DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING Effective Teaching and Learning Teaching and learning process has been made more advanced and objective oriented. Highly learned and experienced teaching staff. Regular class and laboratory sessions. Industry oriented syllabus. Learning Management System (LMS) is in use to have 24x7 access of e-Materials. There is a tight online communication mechanism of attendance monitoring through LMS. Continuous evaluation like conducting quiz, seminar, online test, tutorials and projects. Highly equipped laboratories (Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Android, iOS, and all core courses. Key Points Industrial tours for students. Industry training/Projects for students in last semester, summer internship and social internship. Dedicated Departmental Training & Placement Cell for providing placement opportunities to interested and eligible students. Encouraging students for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Department encourages and prepares the students to participate in various National and International paper presentation, project competition, poster presentation and other competition. Mentors to solve students’ academic and non-academic issues and counselling. Regular Workshop, Seminar by industry experts to update knowledge regarding recent trends and technologies. Remote Center of IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur and NPTEL local chapter. Strong alumni networks being the oldest department of the institute. DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING Faculties The department has highly learned and experienced faculty members in various areas of specializations. Faculties from IIT & NIT. The faculty ensures that the students acquire knowledge of latest trends in industries and also keep themselves abreast of latest research and development. Faculties attend FDPs, STTPs and Workshops regularly to enhance their knowledge. Faculties are recognized at National level and International level. Software installation and other day to day IT issues at Institute level. Involved in Android Application Development. Laboratory Infrastructure The department has latest configured hardware and devices. There are 350 computer systems connected in LAN. All devices are equipped with 1GBPS internet speed. The laboratories are well equipped in the specialized areas. The laboratories are enriched with all state of art equipment and License software to fulfill the needs of UG & PG students as well as R&D and consultancy works.
