This will be awarded to the Exhibitor winning the largest total of prize money in the Horticultural Classes 10 - 58 inclusive. (201 and 201 winners ineligible). A Cup presented by Lt. Col. E.B. Gordon for the Exhibitor with most points in the Novice Classes 1 - 9. The Allenford Cup for the Exhibitor with the most points in Classes 10 - 36. A Cup for the runner-up in Classes 10 - 36. A Cup presented by J.W. Stokes Esq for the Exhibitor with most points in Classes 37 - 58. A Cup for the runner-up in Classes 37 - 58. The Manston Sweet Pea Cup for the Exhibitor with most points in Classes 42 - 44. The Whitsbury Perpetual Challenge Rose Bowl for the Exhibitor with most points in Classes 51 - 53.A Cup for the Exhibitor with most points in Classes 69 - 76. A Cup for the Exhibitor with most points in classes 77 - 95. A Cup for the best exhibit (chosen by the judge) in Classes 97 - 101. The John Young Cup for the most points in Classes 103 - 110. A Cup for the runner-up in Classes 103 - 110. The Ken Murphy Tankard for the Exhibitor with most points in Class 20. The Committee gratefully acknowledges the help and support it receives each year from the Membership. SHOW RULES AND REGULATIONS Classes 1 - 9, open to Novices only (Rule 15). Classes 68, 103 - 110 Children only. Remaining Classes are open to anyone, with the exception of Class 96 and 101. All Horticultural Exhibits must be grown in the Exhibitor’s own garden or home which must be within a 15 mile radius covered by Damerham and District Horticultural Society, and all entries in the Home and Craft section must be the bonafide work of the Exhibitor and not previously entered in Damerham Show. All exhibitors must reside within a 15 mile radius of the area covered by Damerham and District Horticultural Society i.e. Damerham, Martin, Rockbourne, Whitsbury and Sandleheath. A Member of the Committee may visit a Competitor and shall be allowed to inspect any intending exhibit. Any Exhibitor found guilty of any irregularities will not be allowed to compete in any of the Society’s future Shows. The annual membership fee shall be Members £5.00; joint £8.00. Subscriptions shall be due and payable in January of each year. All entries should reach the Show Secretary by Tuesday July. After that date all entries will be charged double fee. No entries accepted after July 2th. All exhibits must be staged by 9.30am, and no exhibit shall be removed from the tent until 4.30pm. The judges’ decision shall be final, but any genuine complaint will be investigated if handed to the Secretary in writing by 4 o’clock, accompanied by a deposit of 50p. The Committee reserves the right to refuse any entries. An Exhibitor may not make more than ONE ENTRY in a class. The Committee will take care of all exhibits and containers, but will not be responsible for any loss or damage. Labelling of exhibits and clean condition of roots will be considered by the judges. Prizes not claimed within one week of the Show will be reverted to the funds of the Society. NOVICE. For the purposes of this Show a novice is defined as a competitor who has previously not won a first prize in the Novice Section. TIES. In the event of two or more competitors tieing for any Cup, Medal or Prize Money, the money prize will be divided equally among the competitors. Cups will be held by those who tie for an equal number of months during the ensuing year. PRIZE MONEY. Prize Money will be paid out from 3.30pm onwards. The tent will be open for exhibits to be staged between 6.30pm and 7.30pm onFriday 2th July and from 8.00am to 9.30am on Saturday 2th July.
