Covenant HealthCare Prevention Programs programs goal is to reach the community and is designed to reduce the incidence of specific cancer types. They are consistent with evidence-based national guidelines for cancer prevention. Covenant HealthCare provides numerous prevention programs each year to aid the Saginaw region in education and prevention in regards to many types of cancer.

Covenant HealthCare Cancer Screenings

Detecting cancer at an early stage can improve survival and decrease morbidity. Screening tests can help diagnosis cancer at an early stage, oftentimes before symptoms appear. When diagnosed early it increases the propensity to treat or cure the reducing the growth and/or spread of cancer.

Covenant HealthCare offers three cancer screening programs each year. Each screening is based on community needs and adheres to recommendations that are consistent with evidence-based national guidelines and interventions. Processes are developed to follow-up on patients with positive findings

May 1, 2014 was the 13th Skin Screening event for the Saginaw area. The event is held each year at the Mackinaw Cancer Care Center.

In addition, Covenant HealthCare’s 6th annual Breast Health Screening was September 6, 2014 at the Mackinaw Campus Breast Health Center.

November 6, 2014 was the 14th Prostate Screening provided by Covenant HealthCare’s Center, since 2001.
