KONICA MINOLTA CADILLAC DPi-V.R WINS DETROIT 03/06/2017 Konica Minolta Cadillac continues to be unbeaten in 2017 Cadillac V-Performance racing team Konica Minolta continues their perfect season winning the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Chevrolet Sports Car Classic of Detroit this afternoon. The win represents five in a row, a perfect season so far for the No. 10 Cadillac DPi- V.R. The No. 31 Whelen Cadillac DPi-V.R was second and the No. 5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac DPi-V.R was fourth. At the drop of the green flag for the 100-minute race through the streets of Belle Park, the pole sitting No. 5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac DPi-V.R driven by Christian Fittipaldi was the early leader until the first pit stop on lap 21. During that stop, Joao Barbosa took over the No. 5 Cadillac and was passed on pit lane by teammate Dane Cameron in the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac DPi-V.R. Cameron went to lead until he had to make his second pit stop with 21-minutes remaining. He was passed during the process by the No. 10 Konica Minolta Cadillac. The Taylor brothers, Jordan and Ricky, were battling back from a qualifying session crash and a late night thrash by the crew that had them starting at the back of the prototype field. Jordan went on to take the checkered flag for the team's fifth win in as many races this year. "The first stop got us up to third," Ricky Taylor said. "The final stop, I don't even understand how they strategized that, and we got by the 31.

Hugues de Chaunac’s Editorial The upcoming 88th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to be held in September and behind closed doors this year, is shaping up to be a special one for ORECA. Our teams and I are particularly proud to see 20 ORECA 07 chassis entered in the LMP2 class. This record makes us the most represented constructor on the starting grid of the most iconic endurance race in the world! Two Rebellion R-13 are expected in LMP1 as well. The Rebellion Racing team’s stunning victory and double podium finish at the first-ever 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual has inspired us to raise the bar even higher for the actual race. Since 2012, we have made available to TOYOTA GAZOO Racing the breadth of our experience and client services through operational support, and our mechanics and engineers.

WATKINS GLEN, 2016 RISI FLIES SOLO AGAINST BIG TEAMS FIGHTING THE ONESIE vs TWOSIE BATTLE AROUND THE WHEEL witH Cooper MacNeil Few things on a car have changed more than the once humble steering wheel introduced by Alexander Winton nearly 120 years ago. The wheel replaced a tiller found on early vehicles. It performed a single vital function—it steered the car. Along the way, a horn button or ring appeared. Clockwise from top: Compare that to the $30,000 wheel on Cooper MacNeil’s WeatherTech Porsche 911 GT3 R. IN TOUCH THE OFFICIAL MAGAZINE OF DUNLOP MOTORSPORT [ www.injection.tv ] LE MANS RACE EDITION Dunlop came away from the Le Mans 24 hours delighted with the performance of its dry and light wet tyres after a difficult race in which the changing condi- tions contributed to the overall result. “We were pretty competitive in all conditions other than full wet conditions,” says Dunlop’s chief tyre technician Matthew Simpson of the LMP2 tyres. “On the slick tyres and the light wet tyres, we had a performance advantage, but in full wet conditions we struggled to get temperature into our compounds. The Essex car had engine trouble so we were never going to do better than we did, but we have to look at the tyre perform- ance in wet conditions and make it better. “The Virgo Ferrari team were very strong and our development construction at the rear allowed us to double stint safely. There was no sign of difficulty in doing so, and there was zero deterioration from the first lap to the last in a double stint, according to the drivers. Le Mans podiums for Essex Perhaps we could have triple stinted, but we didn’t test that before the race and during the race was not the time to try. Porsche and Farnbacher Ferrari “The Creation team had four punctures and three of them were caused by debris. There was not enough left of the tyre to establish the cause of the fourth.” The 2008 edition of the Le Mans 24 hours produced was difficult to drive because sometimes the power was everything from a record breaking qualifying and race there, other times it wasn’t and we couldn’t know what to John Nielsen, Casper Elgaard and Sascha Maassen pace, a record crowd of 258,500 turning out in eager expect.

  • Audi Teams All Set to Start at Le Mans
Le Mans, 5 June 2005 Motorsport Audi Teams all set to start at Le Mans • Audi finishes pre-practice fourth, seventh and eighth • JJ Lehto quickest Audi driver • Final preparation for the endurance classic For the Audi importer teams, ADT Champion Racing (USA) and Audi PlayStation AUDI AG Kommunikation Team ORECA (France), the pre-practice for the 24-Hour Race at Le Mans went as 85045 Ingolstadt www.audi.com expected. During the only opportunity for testing on the 13.650-kilometre non- permanent circuit, the three Audi R8 cars entered by the two teams finished in fourth, seventh and eighth places respectively. At the end of the nine-hour pre- practice session, the “American” Audi R8 driven by JJ Lehto and Marco Werner led the Audi trio with a lap time of 3m 38.719s. Only three tenths of a second slower was the all-French Audi PlayStation Team ORECA with Jean-Marc Gounon, Franck Montagny and Stéphane Ortelli, who finished seventh. Following right behind them in eighth place was the Audi R8 entered by Team ADT Champion Racing with Emanuele Pirro and Frank Biela. In the first half of the pre-practice, the German-Italian pairing had lost some time in the pits due to some minor problems. For the Audi R8 – with its track record of four victories the most successful Le Mans prototype of all times - 2005 marks the sixth and final season because new regulations will come into effect in 2006. In the 24 Hours of Le Mans the three Audi R8 cars have to start with 50 kilograms of additional ballast and a smaller air- flow limiter than in 2004.

Patrick Long’s & Sebastien Bourdais’ Comments About the 8th Annual Kart 4 Kids Pro-Am Kart Race It’s only fitting that this year’s 8th annual Kart 4 Kids charity karting event takes place just a few steps from the entrance of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St Pete. It’s also just a stone’s throw from Dan Wheldon Way. Each year the event grows, the funds raised increase, and the awareness around a special hospital and a group of kids accelerate. Thank you to our hosts, all of the sponsors, partners, donors, pro drivers, and especially the large committee of great volunteers who make the production of this event happen. This event started off as a humble gathering, with the goal of raising a few dollars in the name of Dan Wheldon for the Hospital. Dan was a St. Pete resident, and someone who had a lot of time for All Children’s. We continue to race in his memory and smile as status and organization of this gathering continues to reach new boundaries! A few milestones were reached in 2018 for Kart for Kids. We managed to donate 130k$ to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, bring the event downtown and reinforce the involvement of the community and sponsors thanks to our amazing group of volunteers. The response from the racing community was no less impressive, with many drivers from different series donating their apparel and time. 2019 will be no less impressive and I want to thank each and every individual for their continued support.
