New Vineyards TOURS OF THE WINERY AND WINE TASTING About us Our winery is located in Aragatsotn, one of the main wine-producing regions of Armenia. It is situated between Yerevan, the capital, and Mount Aragats, the highest peak of Armenia. Vineyard planting began in 2006 followed by the establishment of the winery in 2008. Encouraged by the past years’ success the Company decided to expand its wine production and plant new vineyards. Nowadays, Armenia Wine is an exemplary winery, where century-old wine production of Armenia is undergoing a revival period. Throughout the whole year we offer visitors an interesting and informative tour inside the winery where they are introduced to the whole process of wine production, taste wine by discovering tasting peculiarities. Grapes and vineyards The birth of our wines begins at vineyards. In our winery you will discover Armenian as well as French grape varieties used in wine production. Learn about the sophisticated phases grapes pass through to become wine! Winemaking Immerse yourself into the interesting world of wine and follow the stages of production step by step - from cultivating grapes to getting wine. The structure of wine cellars allows visitors to walk inside and witness the winemaker’s work. Sparkling wine How are sparkling wines made and how do bubbles appear? You will discover all about this during your visit. Brandy distillation unit Aging cellars The aging cellars are located underground, at the depth of 6 meters and contain about 1000 Armenian and French oak barrels. Wine tasting Learn how to taste wine and how to speak about wine by describing it! Wine tasting is carried out in a specialized tasting room. Based on a study of more than 31,000 Staphylinidae recently collected in various habitats and using differ- ent methods, and on a critical evaluation of previous literature records, a checklist of the faunas of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh is compiled. The fauna of Armenia currently includes 675, that of Nagorno-Karabakh 198 named species. Nevertheless, it is concluded that the species inventory of both regions, especially that of Nagorno-Karabakh, is still far from complete. As many as 262 and 183 species are reported from Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, respec- tively, for the first time. A list of 99 species erroneously or doubtfully recorded from the study region is provided. A comparison with the species number and systematic composition of the faunas of other Caucasian countries and regions revealed that (a) their known diversities are significantly lower than should be expected and (b) a remark- ably high proportion (nearly 40 %) of Aleocharinae in the faunas of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, with the genus Atheta T"#&'#*, 1858 alone accounting for approximately 10 % of the total diversity in Armenia.

    Ashtarak, Armenia Karmravor Church at Ashtarak,Armenia Ashtarak in Armenia is an important industrial region in the country. It is located by the River Kasagh and is the capital of the famous Aragatsotn Province. Ashtarak in the Armenian language means tower or fortress. Armenia has beautiful lush green surroundings and a plethora of sightseeing options that you can visit while you are in the place. While you are touring the land, make sure you visit Ashtarak. These are the Karmravor (reddish), a church that contains a tambour which belongs to the 7th century. This has been built in the honor of the Mother of God. The two other churches are Tsiranavor (apricot-colored) which dates back to the 5th century and Spitakavor (whitish) which dates back to the 14th century. St. Mariane is the biggest church in the town. It was built in the year 1281. This is centrally located and is cross-shaped. Another site that is definitely worth visiting is the bridge that has been constructed over the River Kasagh. This was built in the year 1664 and has a total of three arches which are unequal in size. History of Ashtarak A legend says that three sisters who lived in Ashtarak fell in love with the same man, Prince Sargis. The two elder sisters committed suicide in favor of the youngest one. When the youngest sister saw her sisters dead, she also threw herself into the george. After this incident, Sargis became a hermit. Later, three churches came up at the edge of the gorge, named after the colors of the sisters' dresses i.e.

The number of international tourism arrivals into Armenia reached 757.9 thousand people in 2011, up from 114.5 thousand people a decade earlier.1 The Government of Armenia’s 2008 strategy targetted 1.5 million international tourism arrivals by 2020, however, this target was surpassed in 2015. The potential market size is over 11 million consumers (8 million Armenians living abroad and approximately 3 million foreigners). A recent survey of national statistics shows that Armenians are very high cultural consumers. Different concerts, opera and ballet performances, festivals, and other cultural events attract locals and foreigners, especially in the regional tour format or from neighboring countries. It means, that there is also a potential for an intensification of domestic tourism. Despite this, there is no online platform or website that provides comprehensive, updated and accurate information on both popular and yet undiscovered tourist destinations and there is no on-line ticket booking system for domestic and international tourists. After the temple, the team will trek to the “Stone Symphony” in the canyon nearby for lunch. The team will continue trekking to a 4th century cave-monastery, where they will hear stories and legends about the origin of Christianity and the “Spear of Destiny”. Minivans will then take the team through beautiful alpine terrains to the 2800m high Dragon lake in the Geghama mountains. Here they will see 6500-15000 years old prehistoric Dragon stones with faces of dragons and ornaments of creatures related to water. The guide will tell the team about the origin of the dragon stones. After the lake there is an hour’s hike to hidden prehistoric petroglyphs, where they will see 3500-4500 years old hunting, praying and dancing scenes carved on the rocks before travelling back to Yerevan, for an evening walk around the city centre. 3 Yerevan Aragatz After breakfast, the group will drive to Lake Kari (3200m). Here they will have a short break before climbing to the Southern summit of Mount Aragatz (3890m). PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS IN GAVAR AND HRAZDAN MARZPETARANS The “European Union Water Initiative Plus for the Eastern Partnership” (EUWI+) project, gathered together the experts and water stakeholders, as established by the European water framework directive, to seek their views on the future for waters in the Sevan Lake and Hrazdan River basins on March 19 and 21, 2019. The meetings took place in Hrazdan on March 19, 2019 in Kotayk marzpetaran (Hrazdan t.) and on March 21, 2019, in Gegharqunik marzpetaran (Gavar t.). In the frames of the EUWI+ project, together with the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia, the process of the development of the Sevan Lake and Hrazdan River basin plans has been started. The plan describes the environmental objectives for the river and the measures to achieve them. These first consultation fora - gathering 50 local stakeholders including in particular governmental authorities, basin organisations, residential and business water users, the scientific community, NGOs, journalists and experts – were seeking their views on the main challenges to guarantee the water quality, to share the water resource, to secure the drinking water, to reduce pollutions and to preserve people’s health.
