Peterson Prof. Mark F. Peterson (Ph.D., University of Michigan) holds the Hofstede Chair in Cultural Diversity at Maastricht University. His principal interests are in questions of how culture and international relations affect the way organizations should be managed. He was awarded an honorary doctorate in economics by Tartu University (2015). He has held Fulbright Chairs in Japan (Osaka University, 1986) and Canada (MacMaster University, 2008). He has held the Gen. John R. Galvin Chair at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (2003). He has published over 120 articles and chapters as well as several books. The articles have appeared in major management and international business journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Leadership Quarterly, Human Relations, Management International Review, Organization Studies, and Organization Science. He has also contributed international management themes to the basic social science literature through chapters in the Annual Review of Psychology, the Communication Yearbook, the Handbook of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and Research in the Sociology of Organizations. He is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and the Journal of International Business Studies. His books include a third edition with David C. Thomas of Cross Cultural Management: Essential Concepts (Sage Press, 2015). He has edited two four-volume book sets for Sage Press, including Foundations of Cross Cultural Management Research (with Mikael Soendergaard, 2008) and Cross Cultural Research (2015). Specific topics in his writings include basic conceptual and methods issues in cross cultural research (e.g., cultural boundaries, change, levels of analysis), the role different parties play in decision making in organizations throughout the world, the way immigrant entrepreneur communities operate, and the way that intercultural relationships in multicultural teams and across hierarchical levels should function. He will deliver the conference keynote on “Implications of Personal and Societal Values for Reliance on Organizational Roles, Rules and Norms” at ISSWOV 2016. Page 6 of 25 Adrian Ziderman Adrian Ziderman is Emeritus Professor of Economics at Bar-Ilan University, Israel, where he held the Sir Isaac Wolfson Chair in Economics and Business Administration. He was born in the UK and educated at Cambridge and Stanford universities and at the LSE (Ph.D.). His main fields of specialty are in the economics and financing of education, and especially schools’ funding formulas; the economics, evaluation and finance of vocational education and training; and university funding, including student loans and cost-sharing. He has authored seven books and over a hundred papers in international journals. He was formerly senior economist for human resources at the World Bank and has served as a consultant to international organizations. These include: UNESCO, the World Bank, GTZ, ILO, the British Council, DANIDA, Turkish Higher Education Council, and the Asian Development Bank, as well as to government ministries in the Republic of Georgia, Israel, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, the Philippines, South Africa, the Sudan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, the UK and Zambia.
