4. Innovation, Social CRM and online consumers

RESEARCH PROJECT 2018 - Current. Research and development of Social CRM Model involving smarter methods for online buyers Description: Social Customer Relationship Management (Social CRM) is an emerging concept that includes strategies, processes and technologies that bring social media together in the Web and CRM processes (Alt & Reinhold, 2012). However, transforming the large mass of data available on social media into value adding opportunities for companies remains challenging (Orenga-Roglá & Chalmeta 2016). This project involves a scientific partnership between a consolidated research group in Germany (University of Leipzig) and the emerging research groups in the Brazilian Amazon (Amazon University) and Minas Gerais (Fumec University) states. These three already have scientific relations with some visiting meetings, research project in progress and cooperate with Scientific Annual Event in Germany (Program Committee iCRM2018 / 2017) and Brazil (2017 and 2018). It is understood that the development of Germany research on Social CRM can contribute significantly to the two Brazilian poles involved in the proposal because the project can expand the study on CRM and enable learning and partnership between professors and students. Germany is one of the most innovative countries in terms of consciousness consumption and Brazilian Amazon is one of the most important regions in carrying out sustainable development approach. Minas Gerais is an Information Technology (IT) center of research in Brazil. Each of the two Brazilian regions has particularities about social media information based on different consumer, cultural behavior, and economics features. There are several studies about cultural behavior with different factors involved (Baker, Mathur, Fatt, Moschis, & Rigdon, 2013; Bushra and Bilal, 2014; Demangeot & Broderick, 2010; Elger, Raab, Neuner & the Internet option to buy (Jones & Vijayasarathy, 1998; Kovacs & Santo, 2008; Zhou, Dai, & Zhang, 2007). Some information differs according to cultural, social and economic characteristics, for example, what types of products most desired, the information source the online buyers look for, the average purchase price, and others could contribute to understanding more about how to use Social CRM model (Alt & Reinhold, 2012). The main objective is to develop international mobility of students and professors proposing a research project concerning a model that analyzes the profile of normal and compulsive consumers in the context of Social CRM. Specifically, this project aims to bring together the research teams of the three institutions and doctoral students to: a. Develop the state of art about the two constructs studied, consumer online behavior and Social CRM; B. Propose a new model of Social CRM focussing social innovation applied to companies and regional development; w. Analyze the main factors about Brazilian and Germany online consumer behavior; d. Enable the exchange of PhD students on both the German and the Brazilian side; and. Enable and develop the cross-cultural research by integrating researchers from the two countries; f. Test and validate the model in two different countries (Brazil and Germany); g. Propose Social CRM applications focusing on consumer behavior applied to companies .. Status: In progress; Nature: Research. Students involved: Undergraduate: (2) / Academic Master: (2) / Doctorate: (1).

2016 – Current - APQ-01938-15 - Intelligence and Innovation: Support for Management Decisions in the Neonatal Screening Program / MG Description: Neonatal Screening is an early diagnosis strategy considered relevant for the health of the Brazilian population, since it allows the detection of diseases (metabolic, genetic and infectious) from a medical examination performed in the first days of the newborn's life. From these data it is possible to intervene in urgently needed medical treatment for some children and diseases. The problem that guides this research is: How and in what way information analysis technologies can generate intelligence from existing databases on neonatal screening? The objective of the research project is to develop an innovative intelligence system prototype for the neonatal screening program, within the framework of the Nupad MG Neonatal Screening Program (PTN-MG). Specifically, we intend to: describe the technological infrastructure involved in the municipalities of the State of Minas Gerais regarding the use of intelligence information system; identify the technological requirements and infrastructure required to use a prototype intelligence system based on the concepts of scalability, usability and repeatability; to build a prototype of an intelligent and innovative information system to control the management information of the PTN- MG; to evaluate the prototype intelligence system for the neonatal screening program based on the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) and TTF scales. It is hoped from this research to innovate and generate intelligence technology that will subsidize evaluation, change and anticipate problems by ensuring the core competencies needed to ensure the health of the population through the basis of the PTN. 2013 – 2015 - FAPEMIG - Researcher Mineiro 2013 - COMPETITIVE INTELLIGENCE AND COOPERATION BETWEEN LOCAL PRODUCTION ARRANGEMENTS OF MINAS GERAIS Description: In today's business world, releasing relevant information on strategic business issues has become increasingly important in generating sustainable competitive advantages. Thus, the processes of Competitive Intelligence (CI) in companies and productive clusters are presented as an option in the generation of competencies that can generate and sustain competitive positions. In this sense, the present project has the objective of identifying the perception of the entrepreneurs of two Local Productive Arrangements (APLs) regarding their interests and availability in the sharing of strategic information and cooperation. Specifically, we intend to identify the dimensions of the macro and the organizational micro-environment that companies find easier and more difficult to share strategic information and intelligence; to identify the degree of importance to the companies of the selected APLs as to the components of the macro and the organizational microenvironment in the potentialization of their competitiveness and to compare the perception of businessmen of the two mining APLs in the sharing of strategic information and competitive intelligence. Therefore, the research will be carried out in two stages: quantitative and qualitative. In the quantitative stage, a survey will be conducted with companies from the two selected APL miners and in the qualitative stage, interviews with key agents of these APLs will be carried out, as a way of deepening the data collected in the quantitative stage. Quantitative data will be analyzed based on descriptive and multivariate statistical techniques and qualitative data will be analyzed based on the technique of content analysis. 2011 – 2012 - Managers, innovations and quality in services; analyzing organizations in development Description: The current, dynamic and competitive scenario has organizations that are forced to innovate and guarantee quality to survive. Comparing private and public institutions, one can verify that private institutions are characterized by uncertainties that lead them to invest in planning in search of competitive strategies while public sector institutions are characterized by concern in management and excellence in services. In both cases, the scenario makes us reflect on the theme and constructs of this research: management, innovation and quality. The methodology proposed for this research is descriptive- comparative of quantitative and qualitative nature through case studies. The research will be carried out in two stages: quantitative and qualitative. In the quantitative stage, questionnaires will be used to evaluate innovation and quality in two organizations, one private and the other public in the same field of activity to analyze and compare the results. Quantitative data will be analyzed based on descriptive and multivariate statistical techniques with the aid of statistical programs. In the qualitative step will be used an interview with semi-structured script and its data will be analyzed based on the technique of content analysis. Subsequently the qualitative and quantitative data will be triangulated and the results of the research will be created. We have as a research problem: How do managers influence the processes of innovation and service quality in public and private companies? It is intended to address the proposed research problem: describe and analyze the influence of managers in the processes of innovation and service quality in public and private companies. With this research project, it is hoped to contribute to the scientific and technological development in Brazilian public and private organizations specifically in the State of Minas Gerais, regarding the discussion of management, innovation and quality in services. 2010 – 2012 - QUALITY IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE: A CASE STUDY OF A PUBLIC FOUNDATION Description: The importance of studies regarding quality in services has been reinforced since the end of the 90's ... The Institution organization in which this study will be carried out is a public law foundation of the area of public health research that for this work will be called the X Foundation. This unit has 120 effective staff, 113 collaborators (researchers and health technicians), 186 students and 79 outsourcers, and was considered a useful space for analysis. Due to the absence of studies in this area. The research problem can be summed up in the importance of providing quality services to achieve institutional goals and objectives and the pursuit of excellence, considering the nature of the work carried out within the service organization in question and that its framework is composed of career servants and also by professionals whose participation is temporary. This leads to the guiding question of this project, namely: how is the internal perception of quality in services of the professionals with different links with the research center configured? This work is justified from the organizational point of view by the lack of studies on the subject in the Public area and by the importance of mapping and diagnosing the perception of the quality of service provision for the development of the management practices to be improved by the organization in order to contribute to organizational efficiency and effectiveness. This work is also of great importance, as it contributes to the increase of scientific knowledge regarding quality in services. 2 GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Describe and compare how the quality of services of professionals with different links to the research center is configured. 2.1 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: Describe the public research center and its staff that includes career servers and other professionals. 2006 – 2008 - Competitiveness of the steel industry Description: The steel industry has always been recognized for its importance in the economic development of nations, by providing inputs for infrastructure, supplying construction industries, capital goods and consumer goods, especially automotive. Thus, Brazil, like other developing countries, invested through the State in the construction of a steel mill, with an emphasis on capacity building, focused on the domestic market and export. The creation of state-owned steel companies in the country was part of the import-substitution model, which sought to reduce dependence on manufactured goods from developed countries. Thus, amidst the growth of the Brazilian industrial park, demand and production increased rapidly, causing imports to decrease considerably. Since the transformations of the sector that began in 1990, the sector invests in new productive and management ways to ensure competitiveness and conquest of new markets in internal and external scope. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the economic performance of the Brazilian steel industry as of 2003, estimating the relative importance of corporate, structural and systemic factors.
