However, students will need to show an IGO pass to travel at the concessionary (reduced) fare. If students do not have an IGO pass, they will have to pay a higher fare. Most of the journeys shown in this timetable are funded by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM). The majority of TfGM funded services charge a standard fare and also offer daily return tickets. In some cases, the return ticket can also be used for travel on other journeys which serve similar areas – even if it is provided by a different operator. On most services, students can also buy a weekly scholar’s ticket, which costs £7.30. These are ONLY valid on schooldays on school buses and are available from the bus driver on all services where they are applicable. To help the driver, please try to have the correct fare when buying your ticket. A summary of fares and ticketing information on all school services included in this timetable can be found at http://www.tfgm.com/journey_planning/Pages/back-to-school.aspx There are also a small number of TfGM funded services where the operator sets the fares. You will need to check with the operator what fares are available. Yellow School Buses This timetable also shows the journeys operated by Yellow School Buses. Yellow School Bus journeys have special travel conditions and can only be used by students who hold a Yellow School Bus pass which is valid for that journey. Students who wish to use a Yellow School Bus should go to http://www.tfgm.com/buses/yellowschoolbus/Pages/default.aspx for details on how to apply for a pass. The IGO Pass All students between the ages of 11 and 16 need an IGO pass if they wish to travel at the concessionary (reduced fare) rate on buses. The IGO pass is like an ID card and proves that the student is aged 16 or under. It must be carried on all journeys and shown to the driver before paying the fare. The IGO pass costs £10 and can only be bought by students who live, or go to school in Greater Manchester. Other booklets are available for schools across the other 9 districts of Greater Manchester and these can be found at tfgm.com/tickets-and-passes/bus-school-bus-services. In addition to the services contained in this booklet, there is a network of general bus services which can also be used to get to and from school. Details of these can be found at tfgm.com/public-transport/bus/. Services shown in this booklet operate only on the school days of the schools that the services operate for and will not operate during school holidays or on days when students are not in attendance. Some buses are shared between schools and in these instances, buses will operate on days that all relevant schools are in attendance unless marked on the timetable. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS/CARERS - If you are using school bus information to choose your child’s school, please be aware that these services are subject to change and may be withdrawn due to low use and/or a suitable public transport alternative. Any alternative may involve a journey of up to 90 minutes, use the general service network and a change of bus on route may be required. The provision of direct school buses in the 2021/22 academic year does not indicate that these buses will be provided in future academic years and parents should consider carefully how their child may get to/from school if no school bus was provided.

    School Transport & Bus Timetables 2021-2022 (Effective from Sept 2021) THE TIMETABLES INCLUDED IN THIS BOOKLET ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGES THAT ARE OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL'S CONTROL. SCHOOL BUS SERVICES A high proportion of our pupils have to travel by bus to school. School bus services are organised by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM). The school has no authority over most services provided and we work in partnership with the bus companies to ensure the safety and well-being of pupils using these services. For routes not designated a “school service”, pupils must use normal service buses and you will need to check times and available routes with the individual bus companies concerned. To assist with the monitoring of behaviour on the school service buses we usually rely on prefects. Unfortunately, due to the current COVID situation our normal School Bus Code of Conduct for pupils will be difficult to implement. All pupils will be responsible for their own behaviour and if others are causing a nuisance it should be reported immediately they arrive in school, initially to their form tutor who will decide if further action is required. Yellow School Buses This year there will be NO Yellow School Buses for St Edmund Arrowsmith. TfGM have increased capacity by providing double decker buses for routes similar to those run with the Yellow Buses. This will give pupils the flexibility to board any convenient service rather than be allocated a place according to where they live. It will be important to ensure an even spread of pupils across the buses to protect these routes moving forward.
