However, in case any seat in this 3% quota remains unfilled on account of non- availability of candidates with Locomotive Disability of lower limbs between 50% to 70% then any such unfilled seat in this 3% quota shall be filled up by persons with Locomotive Disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50% - before they are included in the annual sanctioned seats for General Category candidates. For claiming seat under this category, a Certificate to this effect from the Civil Surgeon/Chief Medical Officer of the respective district will have to be submitted alongwith the duly filled in application for admission to the couse. lProvided that this entire exercise shall be completed as per the statutory time schedule for admissions and in no case any admission will be made after 30 September. The result of candidates, qualifying in the Entrance Test will be uploaded on the official website of the University (www.mmumullana.org) and displayed on the Notice Board of Admission Office at Administrative Block, M.M. University Mullana-Ambala, 133-207. 2. The candidates will fill up three Admit Cards annexed with the Application Form. The original will be sent to them by Speed Post/Courier. If the same does not reach them in time (lost in transit or for any other reason), they can collect their Duplicate Admit Cards from the Admission Office of the University by 15.06.2012. 3. All related correspondence should be sent to the Convener, Admission Office, Administrative Block, M.M. University, Mullana-Ambala, (Haryana),133-207. 4. In case the number of candidates opting for appearing at any particular Examination Centre is less than 500, such an Examination Centre is liable to be cancelled by shifting the candidates of such a centre to their next choice of centre. MMUCET-2012 3 MM UNIVERSITY : A PROFILE Ideally located on the 'tapobhoomi' of Maharishi Markandeshwar in the river bed of the sacred Markanda, with exotic lush green rural surroundings the Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana- Ambala, was established under the aegis of the reputed Maharishi Markandeshwar Education Trust, which was founded by a great visionary and renowned promoter of education, Shri Tarsem Garg, in November 1993. Named after Maharishi Markandya (the great-grandson of Bhrigu Rishi and the son of Rishi Markandu, the eternal torchbearer of communal harmony and religious tolerance, who by his power of pious devotion and deep faith in Lord Shiva, acquired the boon of eternal life by defeating the invincible Yamraja), MM University began with the establishment of MM Engineering College at Mullana in 1995. Making rapid progress in a short span of 16 years, it has developed into a vast campus comprising the institutions of high- profile professional courses in the areas of Medical Sciences (MBBS, M.Sc. Medical, MD/MS/PG Diplomas almost in all major specialities, Ph.D. in select disciplines); Dental Sciences (BDS and MDS in all the nine specialities, Diplomas in Dental Hygienists and Dental Mechanics, Certificates in Aesthetic Dentistry and Oral Implantology); Physiotherapy (BPT, MPT in five specialities, Ph.D.); Pharmacy (B.Pharm, M.Pharm in four specialities, Ph.D); Nursing (B.Sc., M.Sc. The MM Education Trust has the pride of privilege in establishing the first self-financing Engineering College, first self-financing Medical College, and the first self-financing Deemed University in the region. The other campuses which have recently been developed by the Trust as a part of its expansion programme include MM University, Solan (H.P.), MM University, Sadopur-Ambala (Haryana) and MM Group of Institutions, Ramba-Karnal. An epitome of quality education, the MM University has been imparting value-based, career-oriented education, with special emphasis on medical and technical education, lending yeoman service to the society, providing the best available training in academics as well as extra-curricular activities. Recently the University has also got the 1 Gbps optical link connectivity under (NME-KT) Project of GOI MHRD on payment of a subsidized amount of Rs.50 lac. All the MM institutions have well-equipped modern Labs with latest equipments, besides about sixty computer Labs with over 2700 P-IV and licenced softwares. The air conditioned and computerized Libraries of the University and its Institutions are well equipped with rich collection of Books, Journals, DVDs/CD's/Videos, Theses, standards and back volumes with provision of one-time sitting capacity of 1500 readers. In total there are 1,42,500 books and subscribes to 8267 national and international Journals including e-journals. The University is also a member of IEEE, Springer, ASME, ASCE, McGraw Hill, Elsevier, ASTM, Digital Library, J-Gate, EBSCO. Bentham, Gale Cengage Learning, Nature, etc. consortium through which e-journals on Science & Technology, Pharmacy, Management including Hotel Management are made available. EBSCO's Dentistry and Oral Sciences Source, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins e-collection provide access to all the users of Medical and Dental streams with full text international journals.
