Your school is part of the and Medway Progression Federation (KMPF)

The Kent and Medway Progression Federation is a partnership between universities, colleges, schools and other organisations working together to raise the aspiration and attainment of young people who might not consider progression to higher education.

Your school is eligible to take part in:  KMPF activities – these are activities funded by Canterbury Christ Church University and the  KaMCOP activities – these are activities funded by the Office for Students under the National Collaborative Outreach Programme and offered by the colleges, universities and other organisations below.

You can also benefit from a collaborative planning session for key members of school staff and representatives from our partner outreach teams to discuss and tailor a programme of activities according to your school’s needs. Please email [email protected] or call 01227 922565 to book this in.

Higher Education Opportunities in FE Colleges

KaMCOP partner colleges, Canterbury College, East Kent College and MidKent College all have a Project Officer who is responsible for organising outreach with local schools. Selecting Students who will benefit most from outreach activities

KMPF

KMPF provides transport funding for schools to take students to university campus locations to take part in outreach activities. In order to qualify for this funding, at least two-thirds of students taking part in the activity on campus need to be part of the KMPF Cohort.

The KMPF cohort is made up of students matching any of the below criteria:

 Has no parental experience of higher education - determined by completing KMPF baselines, baselines can be found at www.kmpf.org/go/baselines  Has declared a disability on a 2018-19 KMPF baseline  Lives in a neighbourhood with a low progression rate to higher education – determined by completing KMPF baselines  Has three out of four, or four out of four indicators of deprivation, based on postcode – determined by completing KMPF baselines  Faces other barriers to progressing to higher education, such as being in care or a young carer

KaMCOP

KaMCOP provides opportunities for students from specific postcode wards. You can check individual postcodes at www.kmpf.org/kamcop or you can email [email protected] for assistance in identifying these students within your school.
