Rashmi Agarwal India/ Qatar MAPS International W.L.L. in cooperation with Doha Fire Station - Qatar Museums and in collaboration with UNESCO Club of Piraeus and Islands Presents 31st October- 4th November 2018 Doha Fire Station Doha-Qatar Message from the Head of the Event………!!! “ I want to create a bridge, I don’t want to create a wall.” QIAF 2018 is the very first art event in the region that connects the artist worldwide with live painting, Group Painting Exhibition, Qatar Cultural Tour, Panel Art Show, Award Ceremony Evening and many more. It is extremely important to bring global artist, art experts-connoisseur, art critic and art academician in the region together on the shared platform. You can fulfill many people hunger by giving them food but it’s a big and rewarding thing if u fulfill somebody’s dream. Everyone lives for a dream and if their dream is accomplished by help of someone, it’s a blessing of the Almighty to that human being. The Artistic passion is not defined by a degree in Art or commerce, its immortal seed inside of everyone and the moment you nourish these seeds with your passion, devotion, effort, time and methods, it is grown in such a way that creates its smell to its environment and inspiration to everyone. We get first miracles from Nature itself in every form by nourishing an Art. My dream towards QIAF 2018 was very simple and Divine but the road was not so easy. I was ecstatic because I loved this theme to work on. As we say that when are on the right path, many obstacles come but those obstacles are really sign of showing that we are doing right and accomplish something very big. Big risk comes with Big Dreams and Big Achievements. QIAF’s Six events in six days were really a great excitement to everyone but It was difficult but was not impossible as to receive 268 registrations from 75 countries all over the world. People were enthusiastic to come to Qatar and participate in this mega festival and in spite of facing so much financial and other major problems, they became part of the festival. It is a festival of colors, festival of exchanging knowledge, leaning and interaction with so many different cultures and themes. At the conclusion, I would like to extend my gratitude to Qatar Museum, Doha Fire station and their full team for great support and cooperation. I am really thankful to all dignitaries and Participants for coming and appreciating the QIAF Festival 2018. I am also very thankful to all our Sponsors, my family, QIAF team members and everyone who made this festival really happen and made this a grand Success. I also wish Good luck to all our participants and visitors from all over the world a great success with huge satisfaction in their dreams and also hope they enjoy our hospitality and Qatari Culture with their tradition. QIAF is a festival organized by MAPS International which has always provided the highest level of local and international exhibitions, including the previous "Colors of Desert“ with many series by presenting art in a variety to enrich the art scene in Qatar, with the participation of Qatari artists and residents too. The Qatar International Art Festival (QIAF) 2018, held in Fire station “Artist in residence”, with hundreds of artists from around the world participate in this great artistic event as a platform for the arts annually and an arena for enriching artistic taste and exchange of cultures and art forms. Methods: PubMed was searched using MESH terms: Qatar, healthcare, medical development, medical insurance and medical history. Websites of the World Bank, CIA fact book, Qatar Ministry of Health, Hamad Medical Corporation, Organiza- tion for Economic Co-operation and Development and the US State department were searched for information about Qatar’s healthcare system and its history. Results: Qatar is a rapidly growing, multicultural country with over 80 nationalities represented. Qatar has developed a healthcare system with universal coverage. Up until 2014, the government has subsidized all care. There are plans to develop a medical insurance system.

    New exhibition of Mathaf Collection presenting over 100 years of modern and contemporary art opens in Doha Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha dedicates the first floor of the museum to a new display of its permanent collection, opening on 1 November 2014. Entitled Mathaf Collection, Summary, Part 1, the exhibition presents over 100 artists from the museum’s collection of more than 8,000 works, that continues to grow with new acquisitions and commissions from Mathaf exhibitions. The exhibition includes work from Qatar and the Arab world, Iran, Turkey and other regions historically connected to the Arab Peninsula, reflecting a multitude of artistic directions and contexts. This exhibition also contributes to developing research into the collection and its interconnections with contemporary cultures that is also present online in the Encyclopedia of Modern Art and the Arab World, developed by Mathaf.
