The survey asked about the current quality of services and the desire for investment in streets, public safety, and new or upgraded city facilities. The survey offered a wide array of potential needs and projects including street improvements, public safety, quality of life issues, city facilities, and drainage. Respondents were also asked to rate their level of satisfaction with a variety of current services, and they were asked to indicate their priorities on several issues. Respondents were given the opportunity to offer their own recommendations in addition to the ones offered. These verbatim responses are included in whole for any who wish to hear from respondents in their own words. The responses also have been categorized for purposes of more streamlined analysis. The results are organized to show areas of strength, recognize areas for improvement and identify citizen priorities. Complete percentage results appear on the survey instrument at the end of this report. All verbatim responses are listed in the appendix. Within the report, each survey item is charted. The numbers on the bars indicate the percentage and number of respondents with an opinion who selected that response. These charts have been regrouped by subject and do not appear in the same order that they appear on the survey instrument. The results show a broad satisfaction with most city services, and indicate specific areas in which the city can better serve the community. The major concerns are related to transportation and infrastructure: street maintenance, traffic flow, drainage issues. The community strongly supports improvements in these areas. Respondents also indicated support for various public safety projects as well as certain projects intended to upgrade facilities and improve the overall quality of life in Broken Arrow. 2017 BROKEN ARROW CITIZEN SURVEY 2 How is Broken Arrow Doing? Respondents expressed a great deal of satisfaction with everything from fire and police to customer ser- vice. In addition, respondents indicated broad satisfaction with the overall quality of life in the City of Bro- ken Arrow, with 97.7% reporting they are very or somewhat satisfied. Over 95% of respondents indicated Broken Arrow is an excellent place to live and raise a family. The most significant identified areas of dissatisfaction are related to streets and traffic flow. Those results are summarized at the end of this section. A series of questions asked how citizens feel about the level and quality of services provided by Broken Arrow.
