Uefa Champions League UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - 2018/19 SEASON MATCH PRESS KITS (First leg: 1-2) Estádio do Dragão - Porto Wednesday 6 March 2019 FC Porto 21.00CET (20.00 local time) AS Roma Round of 16, Second leg Last updated 28/02/2019 14:10CET UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE OFFICIAL SPONSORS Head coach 2 Legend 3 1 FC Porto - AS Roma Wednesday 6 March 2019 - 21.00CET (20.00 local time) Match press kit Estádio do Dragão, Porto Head coach Sérgio Conceição Date of birth: 15 November 1974 Nationality: Portuguese Playing career: Penafiel, Leça, Felgueiras, Porto (twice), Lazio (twice), Parma, Internazionale Milano, Standard Liège, Koweit Qadsia, PAOK Coaching career: Standard Liège (assistant), Olhanense, Académica de Coimbra, Braga, Vitória SC, Nantes, Porto • A right winger with an eye for goal, Sérgio Conceição started out in the youth ranks at hometown side Académica and in 1996 joined Porto, where he won two league titles and a Portuguese Cup before leaving for Lazio in 1998. In Rome, he won the 1998/99 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Super Cup the same summer, as well as a Serie A title and a Coppa Italia double in 1999/2000. • He rejoined Lazio after spells at Parma and Inter. Returned to Porto in 2003/04, winning another Portuguese league title under José Mourinho, before finishing his career with spells in Belgium, Kuwait and Greece. Scored 12 goals in 56 Portugal games, including a celebrated hat-trick in a 3-0 win against defending champions Germany at UEFA EURO 2000. • After retiring, worked as PAOK's sporting director and Standard's assistant coach before taking charge of Olhanense back in Portugal midway through 2011/12, guiding the relegation-threatened side to a comfortable eighth-placed finish. • Returned to his home town Coimbra – where a stadium has been named in his honour – to lead Académica in 2013, and then took Braga to the 2014/15 Portuguese Cup final, where they lost to Sporting CP on penalties. • Led Vitória Guimarães in 2015/16, and then pulled Nantes out of a relegation nosedive in France the following season, a respectable seventh-placed finish prompting Porto to hire him on a two-year contract in summer 2017. Rewarded them with a first league title in five years in 2017/18, when Porto also reached the UEFA Champions League last 16. Eusebio Di Francesco Date of birth: 8 September 1969 Nationality: Italian Playing career: Empoli, Lucchese, Piacenza (twice), Roma, Ancona, Perugia Coaching career: Virtus Lanciano, Pescara, Lecce, Sassuolo (twice), Roma • A pacy winger known as 'Turbo', Di Francesco came through Empoli's youth system, making his Serie A debut in 1987/88. His career really took off at Piacenza between 1995 and 1997, when he earned himself a move to Roma. Transformed into a midfielder by Zdeněk Zeman, he spent four seasons at the Stadio Olimpico, winning the 2000/01 Scudetto although he played only five games that campaign. • Having retired in 2005 after two more seasons at Piacenza and spells with Ancona and Perugia, Di Francesco – who won 12 caps for Italy – spent a year as a Roma director but the lure of coaching proved strong; that new venture began in his native Abruzzo, first with a brief stint at Lanciano before two campaigns with Pescara. • Appointed Lecce coach ahead of 2011/12 for his first Serie A experience, though it proved brief as Di Francesco was sacked after just 13 matches with his side bottom of the table. • Dropped back into Serie B the following season; a huge Zeman fan, Di Francesco – named after Portuguese legend Eusébio – had a brilliant start with Sassuolo using his mentor's 4-3-3 system and led the team from the Modena area into Serie A for the first time. • Coached Sassuolo in Serie A for four consecutive campaigns, although the first featured a short interruption as he was replaced for five games by Alberto Malesani only to return and help the side avoid relegation. Known for his entertaining attacking football, he steered Sassuolo to a first UEFA Europa League qualification by finishing sixth in Serie A in 2015/16 before replacing Luciano Spalletti as Roma coach in June 2017. In his first season he took the side into the last four of the UEFA Champions League thanks to a remarkable quarter-final comeback against Barcelona. 2 FC Porto - AS Roma Wednesday 6 March 2019 - 21.00CET (20.00 local time) Match press kit Estádio do Dragão, Porto Legend ALL-TIME STATISTICS The all-time record of the competing clubs in UEFA club competition. • Drugie Życie Dawnych Graczy Romy AS Roma - Polski Serwis Romanistów - Asroma.Pl - News
