These students have completed leadership training, peer mentoring for goal accomplishment, and seminars led by nationally recognized industry leaders. The mission of The Society is “We build leaders who make a better world.” Outstanding Graduates Outstanding Graduates are selected from among nominations made by faculty, staff, and students. To be considered, a student must hold a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA and have demonstrated a positive impact on the college/community through clubs, organizations, student government,employment, or community or campus service. Phi Theta Kappa Students wearing the gold regalia are members of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges. Founded in 1918, its mission is to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship programming. Veterans Honors Red Rocks Community College is proud to honor our graduates who are veterans. The red, whiteand blue cords on these graduates designate military personnel who have been honorably discharged. The band delivered songs from its recent Number One album, Babel, along with such hits as “Little Lion Man” and “I Will Wait.” Mumford & Sons thrilled the invitation-only crowd of 800 throughout its rousing set, closing the evening with a blistering rendition of “The Cave” from the classic, multi-platinum debut Sigh No More. ARTIST BIO Mumford & Sons was formed in 2007 by English vocalist/multi-instrumentalists Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, “Country” Winston Marshall, and Ted Dwane. The band’s first recorded material, an EP entitled Love Your Ground, was released in 2009, followed shortly thereafter by its breakout, full- length debut, Sigh No More. The band steadily gained popularity throughout 2010, receiving increased popularity after its electrifying performance with Bob Dylan at the Grammy Awards. The album won the BRIT Award for Best British Album in 2011 and was nominated for six Grammy Awards. Following months of touring, the band reconvened in Nashville to begin work on new material.

Hayes, Advisor Gerald Kosicki Erik Nisbet Copyright by Teresa Ann Myers 2010 Abstract Of the many costs of war, the number of soldiers‘ lives lost has been argued to be one of the most influential determinants of the public‘s support. In this paper I test the effect of news about a hometown soldier‘s death on opinion about the war, through use of a natural experiment. I test whether the effect of a soldier‘s death on opinion depends upon an individual‘s political ideology. Additionally, through the use of cross-classified multilevel modeling, I test whether the effect of a soldier‘s death on opinion depends on community factors such as political leaning, structural diversity, or population size, along with simultaneously examining how the effect may change over time. Furthermore, I suggest that more structurally diverse communities are likely to publish more dissent about the war than less pluralistic communities, leading to a lower level of support for the war. To assess this effect of deaths on opinion, data were aggregated from 55 nationally representative surveys conducted by the Pew Center for the People and the Press between 2003 and 2009 (including a total of 86,626 respondents), and matched with casualties that had occurred in the respondents DMA in the same time frame the respondent had been surveyed.
