Last Friday, over 15 campus organizations set out to make money, involve the community, and above all, have fun at Winter Carnival '93. Major Campus Events (MCA) sponsored the annual event in which all campus organizations had the opportunity to participate. The organizations paid a deposit that reserved their spots at the event and told MCA what they planned to do. MCA then made sure that there were no duplicate booths. Ice cream and numerous nonalcoholic drinks were served. Other activities included putting someone in jail, an event sponsored by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority or embarrassing someone by calling them the village idiot and having the members of STAGE find and "torture" them. The advisor of MCA, Laura Meyers, said that the event was a "great time for organizations to show their spirit and have serious fun while making a few cents as well." Tickets at 10 for $1 were available from MCA. These tickets could then be redeemed at the various booths. The organizations turned in their tickets at the end of the night and received the equivalent of the ticket price. The crew team, which had three booths, including Jacob's Ladder, raised five most money. Katheryn Bart, a member of Theta Chi Omega Sorority, said that this was a chance for fundraising and a campus-wide, mid winter spectacular event Delta Zeta Sorority received the Most Participation Award. The crew team also received an award for having the most creative booth. m i i t i m Wednesday, February 17, 1993 her to. her begins begins as Frederic has 21turned she tells him that she is very very fine, is he has nothing to compare she that him tells she woman besides Ruth.
