Everything Saint Ambrose for every student. School Open House Every day. See all of the great opportunities that Saint Ambrose Catholic School offers its SAINT AMBROSE SCHOOL students. Saint Ambrose students receive a complete education focused on values, Let Your Light Shine! academic fundamentals and self-confidence Advent at Saint Ambrose Catholic School is traditionally full of opportunities from preschool through grade 8. for us to prepare for the coming of Jesus who is Everything for us. Beautifully, there was a deeper sense of the Holy Spirit at work this year. JANUARY 28, 2018 Along with our annual Giving Tree that allows us to minister with Catholic Works Tours available 10:00 am to 1:30 pm of Mercy to provide much-needed items for those in need, a new tradition began at our parish school during Advent this year: the Giving Manger. As part of our Advent preparations, the “Giving Manger” helped our students and www.SaintAmbroseSchool.us staff focus their efforts on watchful waiting for Christmas. Mr. Chris Mullen, our HSP Math Teacher, made a beautiful wooden manger as the focal point. The manger is located in the lower level hallway next to our school’s Giving Tree. During Advent, everyone was reminded to offer up little sacrifices and perform peaceful acts for Jesus. Students were given pieces of “straw” (yarn) for each time they let their lights shine in these ways. The students then placed the “straw” in the wooden manger. It was truly a beautiful experience to watch our students work hard to make a cozy resting place for the newborn King!

To the joy of our school family, St. Nicholas and St. Ambrose made their annual visits on December 6 and December 7, respectively. The gentlemen stopped in each classroom to visit and share their great love for the Lord and others. Students and staff put one of their shoes in the hallway and received a candy cane and a piece of chocolate on St. Nicholas Day. We are so thankful for the small group of ladies who annually make chocolate beehives to celebrate our patron saint, the “honey-tongued preacher.” The delicious candy was distributed to our school family on St. Ambrose’s feast day, December 7.

We were invited to participate again this year in “The Fish Christmas Wish” during 95.5 The Fish radio station’s broadcast from Chick-fil-A in Strongsville on December 8. Some members of our school choir shared ways we helped others during Thanksgiving and the Advent season, then sang, “Shine, Jesus, Shine”. It was heartwarming to listen to our students share their own light that early morning! Sharing with you the Glory, the Wonder, the Miracle of this Holy Season. From our Saint Ambrose Catholic School Family to yours, may you have a peace-filled and blessed Christmas and 2018!

In Christ,
