They have provided many fascinating contests in the past and I expect this year's final to be no different. Both clubs have been impres sive with their performances in the Championship to date and if this continues we could be in for the game of the year so far. Whilst both teams have qualified for the last rounds of the County, I am sure both clubs would relish another mid title which to the winner would also serve as a confidence boost for the County series. Patrons and keen observers will enjoy the skills and commitment of the many excellent players on view. We wish to thank all our patrons and loyal supporters for your attendance today and throughout the year. A special word of thanks to our sponsors Centenary Agri who have re newed their sponsorship for another th ree years. We wish to thank them for their continued support. I would like to pay compli ment to Moyne Templetuohy Club for hosting this final. They have worked very ha rd over the years to provide top class facilities which makes it an ideal setting to host the Senior Final. Best of luck at all involved and enjoy the match. Joe Kennedy Cathoirleach, Tiobraid Arann Meanach CLG 4 Kevin is a member of the Thur1es Gaels GAA club and is still playing jun ior hurling where he plays in goals. Today's final is Kevin's first Mid Senior hurling final. Kevin became a ref eree 4 years ago and was inspired by his father Thomas 'Gubby" Jor dan who was a big influence in Kevin becoming a referee and has been a huge help to him. Kevin has officiated numerous senior hurling championship games at county level and is currently on the second tier of Munster Council referees. Kevin was the man with the whistle in last year's Tipperary Supporters Club All Ireland U16 A hurling final in which he did a fantastic job. We wish Kevin and his umpires the best of luck today and hope that he has an enjoyable occasion. Well , that's what patrons coming here to Tcmplcluohy Ihis afiemoon are expecting and knowing the two elubs involved, they will have lefi no stone untumed 10 ensure thaI Ihis is precisely what they give them. Despite all the talk about new championship systcms, structures and formats, it's very fair to say that the Mid championship still holds real status in Tippera ry. It means some thing 10 the participants and the manner in which each elub goes aboullrying 10 winning it, tells you that mid senior hurling championship medals arc much sought afier. A fier-all there arc far more senior hurlers in mid Tipp who don't have championship medals, than those who do. Sarsfields relinquished their crown at the hands ofDrom-lnch and despite still being in the county championship and on course to retain thc Dan Breen Cup, thcir disappoint mcnt was palpable on that Sunday afiemoon in Holycross whcn that game was played out. Yes, mid medals do mean something. So, now we have a real battle royale on our hands and a chance for both clubs to claim the ultimate silverware in the division - the divisional showpiece, if you like. Loughmore Castleiney of course. were the beaten finalists last year on a damp Sunday evening in Drombane. and they won't want to experience the same feeling again. That dcfeat ended their season and while they story is different this year in that Ihey have already pro gressed in the county championship, as have their opponents, they would tnLly love to win the mid final. So too would Drom-Inch. so who is going to win it? Well, Loughmore Castleiney have been the more impressive so far this scason - they walloped Moycarkcy Borris in the semi-final with a very impressive second halfwhich tore Ihem in IWO, and they have been moving very wcll indeed. Their forward play is very invasive and they have a very strong defensive unit in general. A very difficullteam to beat, Ihey will wish to atone lor reecnt losscs to Drom-Inch over <I number of sea sons. On the other hand, the Drom-Inch lads had to work very hard to ovcrcome a game Holycross Ballycahill side which, by-and-Iurge, managed 10 shackle ace al\acker Seamus Callanan. Other forwards came 10 the fore though and perhaps the tougher game will have stood to Drom-Inch more. One thing is certain, if they arc to win Ihe mid final, they willnced a fully functioning Callanan - and that means gelling the right ammunition for him to fire the shots. Victory this afternoon wil! probably corne down to which forward division operates most etliciently and from what we have seen this season so far, it would appear Ihan Lough morc Castleincy have Ihe slight edgc. II's a great game to look forward to afier the inter county scene took up so much of our attention and there will be a cracking atmosphere here in Templetuohy, a magnificent venuc and a real ercdil to the Moyne Templctuohy club. • Tipperary News Part 6
Clonmel Advertiser. 20-4-1822 We regret having to mention a cruel and barbarous murder, attended with circumstances of great audacity, that has taken place on the borders of Tipperary and Kilkenny. A farmer of the name of Morris, at Killemry, near Nine-Mile-House, having become obnoxious to the public disturbers, received a threatening notice some short time back, he having lately come to reside there. On Wednesday night last a cow of his was driven into the bog, where she perished; on Thursday morning he sent two servants, a male and female, to the bog, the male servant to skin the cow and the female to assist him; but while the woman went for a pail of water, three ruffians came, and each of them discharged their arms at him, and lodged several balls and slugs in his body, and then went off. This occurred about midday. No one dared to interfere, either for the prevention of this crime, or to follow in pursuit of the murderers. The sufferer was quite a youth, and had committed no offence, even against the banditti, but that of doing his master’s business. Clonmel Advertiser 24-8-1835 Last Saturday, being the fair day at Carrick-on-Suir, and also a holiday in the Roman Catholic Church, an immense assemblage of the peasantry poured into the town at an early hour from all directions of the surrounding country. The show of cattle was was by no means inferior-but the only disposable commodity , for which a brisk demand appeared evidently conspicuous, was for Feehans brown stout.

Today's final has all the promise of being an exciting encounter as the clubs concerned, loughmore Castleiney and the combination of Aherlow and Lattin Cullen are noted for the spirit and passion that they bring to the game. Loughmore Castleiney have the added incentive of creating history by being the first club in the county to do the double in senior hurling and football, history as we know from past experience is hard to achieve and Aherlow Gaels will surely be a major stumbling block on that path to glory.

14 THE ANNUAL CONVENTION OF CUMANN LÚTHCHLEAS GAEL, COISTE CHONTAE THIOBRAID ÁRANN 2015 Tuarascáil an Rúnaí 2015 (Tipperary Co Secretary’s Annual Report) eidh cuimhne ar 2015 toisc gur shroicheamar trí chinn de cluichí ceannais na hÉireann. Cé nach raibh bua againn in aon ceann acu, is féidir linn a bheith deimhneach agus bródúil go rabhamar páirteach insan méid sin de laetha móra CLG. BD’fhág Éamon Ó’Sé slán tar éis páirt a ghlacadh sna cluichí ceannais sa sraith agus sa chraobh, ach ar a laghad, bhí sé de shólás aige Craobh na Mumhan a bhuachaint, an t-aon trófaí i rith a réime bhainistíochta. Leanann an dul chun chinn sa pheil agus chuir Na Tráchtálaí marc airde nua síos leis an éacht a rinne siad i Mí na Samhna ag tabhairt an chéad Craobh Peile Chúige ar ais don chontae. It is a privilege to present my ninth report to Tipperary County Convention. 2015 was so full of promise being so near and yet so far away and could have easily turned out a great year. After a bad start losing the Waterford Crystal and League first round our Senior Hurlers had four very impressive League wins on the trot to qualify for the League play-offs. A most disappointing one point loss to Waterford in the League Semi was put aside as we overcame our bogey team Limerick in the Munster Championship with a sixteen point victory in their own Gaelic Grounds. This was followed up with a Munster Final win over Waterford and momentum was building towards an All Ireland Final.

Girls from the parish are active participants in camogie and ladies football. For the main part this has been with clubs from the neighbouring parishes. There was an active ladies football club in the parish from 1975 to 1979. During this time they won 5 County Senior Titles and a Munster Club title in 1978 together with a number of underage successes. This booklet sets out what the club's 5 year plan committee deem to be the crucial projects for completion over the next five years, to build on the work already done by members and deceased members down through the years in promoting Gaelic Games in our parish. The club will be looking for a positive contribution from all our members to help achieve the goals set out in the plan. It is important that these projects are completed so that Loughmore Castleiney GAA Club will continue to serve the players, members and supporters from our parish for many years into the future.
