DESIGN PORTFOLIO LEAD VOCAL COMPILATION RECOMMENDATIONS I am pleased to offer a letter of recommendation for Chad Bahr for the tenor/baritone position. I have known Chad for almost 20 years, and have had the privilege of working with him in various musical projects and groups. He is joy to work with and incredibly talented. The following are five reasons why I believe Chad would be an excellent addition to your group. One, his raw vocal ability is awesome. He is versatile, blends/hides/ supports when needed, but can also throw down a smooth, soulful (and powerful!) lead. Two, he has extensive a cappella production/recording experience. He can contribute to your records beyond just tracking vocals. Three, he is one of the funniest people I know. From impressions to quirky songs and witty remarks, he will make you and your audiences laugh. Four, he’s not a bad lookin’ fella. Five, Chad is an all-around professional dude. He shows up, he does his job well, he has fun, and is just a solid guy to be around. He’s a man of character. Maybe that’s six reasons? In short, I believe Chad would be an asset and an outstanding addition to VoicePlay. I am a fan of VoicePlay and of Chad Bahr and would personally love to hear the lineup! I wish you well in your search and feel free to contact me at 815-441-0728 if I may provide any additional information that might help in your decision. Jon McLemore Founder and former member of Street Corner Symphony, NBC’s The Sing Off, Season 2 Runner Up I’ve enjoyed the privilege of working with Chad Bahr as a vocalist in AVB, one of our previous touring groups. Not only does Chad have an amazing vocal talent, but he is gifted in arranging, specializing in a cappella music. He is a joy to work with and brings joy to his team in the work environment. I wholeheartedly recommend him for future endeavors where he can contribute his unique gift. Keith Lancaster Founder and Producer of The Acappella Company It is with great confidence that I recommend to you today a colleague and friend of mine, Mr. Chad Bahr. I’ve known of Chad for several years, but first met and worked with him in the summer of 2013. That summer, for roughly six weeks, I sang with Chad in the splinter group that performed in place of Home Free while they competed on The Sing-Off. I sang bass while Chad covered baritone/tenor 2. Right off the bat, I was impressed by Chad’s range and uniquely soulful tone. Over the weeks that followed, I grew to appreciate his authentic style and musicality that never allowed his technical skill to overshadow or negate tasteful choices. Chad came in prepared, remained engaged, and showed an eagerness to deliver the best show each night, maintaining a willingness to adjust and improve the show whenever and however necessary. On a related note, Chad has a high level of prowess when it comes to vocal arranging, as you can hear in his previous work with ShadowVox and other ensembles. On top of all of this, Chad has a great sense of humor and warm spirit that makes him equally as captivating on stage as he is enjoyable to be around in more informal, casual settings. Chad is a seasoned and passionate performer and any group would be fortunate to have him. Please feel free to contact me, should you have any specific questions. Elliott Michael Robinson, Esq. The House Jacks, Home Free and Street Corner Symphony I am writing to you with regard to Chad Bahr’s interest in auditioning for your vocal band. First of all, I am truly honored to be writing this letter of reference for Chad, as I have held Chad’s voice as “one of those I’d like to sound like when I grow up” kind of voices. Chad and I both sang for the same a capella group, but at different times (AVB - All Vocal Band). The first time I heard Chad, I thought his voice had a rich, full tone and the feeling in his voice sounded honest and effortless. In terms of filling out the baritone and/or second tenor parts, (or singing a lead that will leave your audience melting and wanting more), you couldn’t ask for a better vocalist. He has my endorsement a million times over. Tim Storms Guiness World Book Record Holder for Lowest Vocal Note By A Male, Pierce Arrow Theater, Acappella, Vocal Union, AVB Chad Bahr is one of my all-time favorite vocalists. He commands a richly smoky and soulful voice complemented by a keen ear and impeccable sense of humor. He also holds an impressive pedigree having cut his teeth with a number of acclaimed groups from The Acappella Company as well as recently performing with the overrated Home Free. I can’t recommend Chad enough. Tim Foust Home Free, NBC’s The Sing Off Season 4 Winners ACCOLADES FOR MY ARRANGEMENT OF “JESUS, BORN ON THIS DAY/WHAT A WONDERFUL CHILD MEDLEY” “What a sweet track!
