  • Press Release July 29, 2018
Press Release July 29, 2018 Four days of world class golf around the Porsche North Course Englishman Richard McEvoy finishes ahead of top stars Hamburg. Surprise win at the 2018 Porsche European Open: Englishman Richard McEvoy finished at the head of a high-class field after four rounds around the Porsche North Course belonging to the Green Eagle Golf Courses. The 39-year old only qualified for the tournament with a win the week before on the second tier Challenge Tour. It was his first ever win on the European Tour at his 285th attempt. With a total of 277 (11 under par), he finished ahead of the German amateur Allen John, the Swede Christofer Blomstrand and the Italian Renato Paratore all in joint second one stroke behind. On the final day, 14,300 spectators (total attendance: 39,000) once again lined the fairways. They saw one top star after the other fall by the wayside: Paul Casey (- 8, England) was joint seventh, South African Charl Schwartzel (-7) finished joint ninth with Masters Champion Patrick Reed (USA). After starting the final day at the top of the leaderboard, Bryson DeChambeau (USA) posted a six over par round to leave him visibly disappointed in joint 13th. “We have seen some fascinating golf in a fantastic setting. The Porsche European Open is now well-established. It offers an attractive package with top golf and an intensive brand experience, something that has been confirmed by the highly positive feedback from our customers. It means we’re already looking forward to the tournament in 2019,” said Andreas Haffner, Member of the Porsche AG Executive Board, who presented the winner’s trophy to Richard McEvoy.

  • VIVENDI TROPHY Continental Europe Vs
VIVENDI TROPHY Continental Europe vs. Great Britain and Ireland The Duel, 15-18 September, 2011 Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche (France) Press release – 18th May, 2011 In the spirit of Severiano Ballesteros Vivendi today announced that Jean Rene Fourtou, Chairman of the Vivendi Supervisory Board, has suggested to the PGA European Tour that the "Vivendi Trophy with Seve Ballesteros" be renamed to "The Vivendi Seve Trophy", in memory of Severiano Ballesteros who really knew, amongst other things, how to develop and support the spirit of match play and Golf as an all-round game. During the day's press conference, Scott Kelly, Marketing Director of the PGA European Tour emotionally welcomed the change on behalf of the PGA European Tour. The 2011 Vivendi Trophy The Vivendi Trophy takes place every two years, alternating with the Ryder Cup. The Vivendi Trophy 2011 will take place from 15th to 18th September at the Saint-Nom-La- Bretèche Golf Course. Following the success of its 2009 version, the second edition of this great competition, initiated and organised by CANAL+ EVENTS, will once again put the 10 best players in Continental Europe in a head to head with the elite of Great Britain and Ireland. A new champion at the helm Jose Maria Olazabal will succeed Colin Montgomerie as the Ryder Cup 2012 Team Captain. The Spanish champion will then head the Seve Trophy 2011. "Txema" may, like Monty did in 2009, oversee and observe the two teams. This arrival is also highly symbolic: we all remember the achievements of the fearsome pair in the Ryder Cup with Olazabal and Ballesteros.

  • Q-Link on Major Golf Tours
Q-LINK ON MAJOR GOLF TOURS The Q-Link pendant is currently worn by more than 300 touring professional golfers on the four major golf tours (PGA, Champions, LPGA, and European). It was worn by players during victories in more than 10 major golf championships. It was worn by the members of the European Ryder Cup team when it beat the U.S. in 2002. It was worn when the decades old PGA 72 hole scoring record was broken by Mark Calcavecchia. Congratulations go out to some of the recent tour winners, all of whom wore the Q-Link pendant during their victories: the 2005 Byron Nelson Classic (Ted Purdy) the 2005 U.S. Senior Open Championship (Allen Doyle) the 2005 U.S. Women's Open (Birdie Kim) the 2005 Women's British Open (Jeong Jang) and the 2005 Women's World Match Play Championship (Marisa Baena).
