2010 Annual Report and Honor Roll of Donors John Muir Health & John Muir Health Foundation Dear Friends, Your generosity has meant so much to the health of our community. Because of you, the community has two new patient care towers in Walnut Creek and Concord with brand new expanded emergency departments that provide healthcare to everyone who enters the doors. Because of you, the community has available state of the art ICUs for adults and tiny infants. Because of you, community members receive the highest level of treatment for heart attacks and heart failure. Because of you, the new and larger Trauma Center will be well-equipped to serve traumatic injuries in the East Bay for a long time to come. This has been an outstanding year for John Muir Health. We have the distinction of having two of the four Magnet nursing hospitals in the greater Bay Area. Numerous quality awards have been received including recognition from U.S. News & World Report , Thomson Reuters, the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, Health Grades and many others. The opening of the two new towers has assured every patient of more privacy and comfort in a healing environment which includes room for family members and tranquil gardens for their use. John Muir Health thanks you on behalf of the community at large. Listed in this report are the names of those who have helped the campaign, who have contributed to purchases for current needs through the annual fund and who have helped to build endowments for the future of healthcare. The first was to create flexible, dynamic hospital environments that would be adaptable to future medical and technical innovations. The second was to meet pent-up demand for inpatient beds and clinical services. Patient privacy and the creation of healing environments were important elements in the architectural design. In 2004 the design and development phases of the projects were initiated and in 2008 after all plans were approved by the respective cities, construction began. We appreciate the many donors who supported the building projects during this critical time. Thank you for joining John Muir Health in improving the health of our community.
