All-Star Race Notes of Interest:

 Cole Custer will make the first NASCAR All-Star Race start in his young Cup Series career. Custer earned the spot by winning at in Sparta on Sunday with a thrilling, four-wide pass with two laps remaining.

 Custer’s first points-paying Cup Series start at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway came on May 31. The 22-year-old’s race ended prematurely after he was involved in a multi-car accident.

 Custer’s win at Kentucky notched Stewart-Haas Racing’s first at the 1.5-mile oval. It was also the first time a Cup Series rookie has won there.

 2020 mark’s Custer’s first full-time season in the Cup Series, and he is contending for Rookie of the Year honors along with four other competitors. The Ford driver is the first rookie in this year’s class to capture a win.
