IMPROVED DRAINAGE AT LIRR PARKING LOT... The Town of Smithtown is addressing the flooding at the St. James LIRR station parking lot and the St. James Gazebo. They have added 11 additional drainage pools 12’x20’ deep, connecting them to the al- ready existing pools in the lot. That and the change in the grading, with new asphalt, will alleviate the flooding that local com- muters and residents attending events at the Gazebo had to deal with. Girl Scouts Make Needed Donation Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and char- acter, who make the world a better place. Girl Scout Juniors and Brownies from St. James Elementary worked together to create over 20 Easter baskets which were given to the Smith- town Emergency Food Pantry this past April. The Food Pantry, which aids residents in an emergency food crisis, opened their doors on March 4, 1984, and for 31 years they have as- sisted all those who have came to them in need. The Girl Scouts donations were much appreciated. Little children were told that the Easter Bunny made an early stop to bring them a basket!
