Terms and Conditions of Rainbow Sports Club Membership

1. Membership validity: Membership is only valid when the current year’s subscription is fully paid. Membership year is from 1st January to 31st December. 2. Age range definitions: For membership purposes age is taken as at 30th June. Child: Under 7 years old. Youth: is aged 7-17 years, or secondary school student with valid school ID. Adult: Aged 18 and over. Senior: Over 65 years. Student: Fulltime students enrolled at a or Australian tertiary institution only on production of a valid identification card from the institute concerned. ISIC cards are not accepted. 3. Members skiing/riding benefits (personal to each member and non-transferable): Platinum Life Member - free any-day skiing/riding at Rainbow, for the rest of the member’s life. Gold Member – free any-day skiing/riding at Rainbow during each season that the membership is valid. Silver Member - free mid-week skiing/riding at Rainbow during each season that the membership is valid. Members must carry and display their membership card at all times to receive skiing/riding benefits. 4. Members reciprocal benefits: a. Platinum and Gold members will be entitled to discounts off the full day pass at Cardrona.and Ski Areas. b. ALL members are entitled to CSA discounts at some CSA affiliated fields please check with each field first. 5. Under 7 and over the age of 75: may have their own membership card and ski for free on payment of a membership card fee of $30.00. 6. Family Gold Membership: 2 adults and 2 youth (aged 7-17) from immediate family. a. Can include 3 generations (grandparent, parent and 2 youths) b. Extra youth must be from immediate family c. Child under 7 skis for free ($30 if wants a photo seasons pass and bronze membership) d. Each applicant must complete a separate application form and provide a recent photo 7. Refund policy: a. Rainbow Sports Club memberships are non-refundable. b. Memberships may, however, be downgraded to a lower level prior to 1 May in any year and the difference between any amount already paid and the current cost of the downgraded membership level will be refunded, less a processing charge of $50. 8. Loss or theft: a. Should your membership card be lost or stolen, this must be reported immediately to Rainbow Sports Club. Theft should also be reported to the police. A replacement membership card will be issued as soon as it can be processed, for a fee of $50.00. There will be a delay of several days. b. Until such time as the membership card can be re-issued, you may purchase the applicable day pass for your age for 50% of the normal price. 9. Forgotten membership card: a. If you forget your membership card, you may purchase the applicable day pass for your age for 50% of the normal price, provided that you can supply acceptable identification. This service will be offered once, only, in a season. b. Should the membership card in question appear on the day of it having been forgotten, and a day pass has been issued in its place, the membership will be revoked without compensation. 10. General conditions of membership: a. You must carry and display your membership card on your person at all times on the field. b. Your membership is NOT TRANSFERABLE. Fraudulent use of your membership or membership card will result in confiscation of the card, cancellation of your membership without refund or compensation, and the prosecution of all parties involved in the fraudulent use. c. All Rainbow Sports Club members must abide by the snow users responsibility code and the instructions of safety personnel. Misconduct will result in the cancellation or suspension of membership privileges. Misconduct includes unsocial behaviour, reckless or dangerous conduct, the supply of incorrect or misleading information relating to membership, and non-compliance with terms expressed or implied relating to the club and ski-field. d. Members must comply with reasonable instructions issued by the staff that operate the field. e. You may not use your membership for any commercial use. f. Our objective is to make the use of the resort a pleasant and safe experience for all users. g. Members assume all risk of personal injury and property loss or damage. The member understands that skiing and snowboarding and other snow-sport are hazardous sports and that many hazards and obstacles, marked and unmarked, natural and man-made, exist within the boundaries. The member uses the area at his or her own risk. 11. Processing Fee: a. There may be a 2% credit card fee.

2020 Price List Explanations

Adult: Applies to persons aged 18-64 years. Youth: Applies to persons aged 7-17 years. Student: Applies to persons that have valid NZ or AUS Student ID’s. Senior: Applies to persons aged 65 years and over. Child: Applies to children aged 0-6 years.

Day Passes: Full day pass: Available from 9am to 4pm. Half day pass: Available from 12.30pm to 4pm. 3 & 5 day pass: 3 or 5 anytime day passes. 5-day pass: 5 anytime day passes Full day pass: You can ride ALL lifts; Beginner Rope Tow, Intermediate Platter, Main T-Bar, Terrain Park Tow and West Bowl Tow. Learner day pass: You can ride the beginner’s rope tow and the platter’s button lift. Upgrade: This will upgrade you from the learner day pass to a full day pass.

Season + Family Memberships: In addition to skiing and riding benefits, all levels of membership are full members of Rainbow Sports Club Inc. and receive the following member’s benefits:

• Access to Rainbow Ski Field's pre-opening day; you can hit the Rainbow slopes the day before the public does! • Exclusive access to the Robert Lodge facilities at Rainbow Ski Area during weekends (Lodge open to School and Alpine Race Groups use during week). • Voting rights at the Rainbow Sports Club Inc. AGM. • Affiliate discounts at Canterbury Snowsports Association affiliated fields including Mt Cheeseman, Broken River, Craigieburn, , Mt Olympus, and Hanmer Springs (Amuri Ski-field). • Membership only specials including discount equipment offers and Snowsports/Coaching clinics.

Rainbow Platinum Life Membership - for the Rainbow diehards and dedicated supporters we now have the option of a very limited number of lifetime memberships. Platinum Life Members are full members of Rainbow Sports Club Inc. and can ski or ride for free any day that Rainbow is open, for the rest of their life. All funds from Platinum Memberships are targeted for capital development projects. Rainbow Gold Individual Membership - this gives you the freedom to ski or ride as few or many days as you want during the season, because you can ski or ride for free on any day that Rainbow is open. You will also receive reciprocal discounts at most other club ski fields in NZ. Rainbow Gold Family Membership - This includes GOLD membership for 2 adults and 2 or more youths in the same family. ALL Family Gold members can ski or ride any day of the week for the whole season. The Rainbow Gold Family Membership includes membership for two adults and two youths in the same families, additional youth family members can also be added on. Gold Family members have the same membership benefits as Gold Individual members. You will also receive reciprocal discounts at most other club ski fields in NZ. Rainbow Silver Membership - Ski or ride for free on any weekday that Rainbow is open during the season. You will also receive reciprocal discounts at most other club ski fields in NZ.

2020 Membership Discounts: Rainbow has made reciprocal discount deals with several commercial Ski Areas; Treble Cone, Cardrona and Mt Lyford. This means if you turn up with your Rainbow Platinum or Gold Membership Passes and ID you will be offered a discount.

The following Canterbury Club Ski Fields offer affiliate discount to Rainbow Sports Club members: Hanmer Springs Ski Area, Craigieburn, Broken River, Mt Cheeseman and Mt Olympus. Rainbow offers affiliate rates to all participating ski area full season pass holders (commercial areas) and member (club fields) the same discount of; Adult - $20, Student (NZ & AU with ID) - $15 & Youth (7-17) - $10. Children under 7 ski for free at Rainbow.

Lone Star - All Rainbow Platinum, Gold, and staff members 15% off at Lone Star Nelson (Discount can be given by showing Rainbow Seasons Pass)

Rainbow Sports Club Membership - 2020

Rentals: Full Ski/Snowboarding Rental Equipment: If you’re skiing this includes a pair of skis, poles and ski boots. If you’re snowboarding this includes a Snowboard and a pair of Snowboarding boots.

Packages: Full Package: This includes a full day pass, full Ski/Snowboard rental equipment and a group lesson (1.75hrs). Learner Package: This includes a learner pass (beginner rope tow and the intermediate platter button lift), full Ski/Snowboard rental equipment and a beginner group lesson (1.75hrs).

Lessons: School Group Booking lessons: 1hr 30mins long. Group Lessons: Group Lessons are 1hr 45mins long. Set lesson start times are 10.00, 12.15 and 14.15. First-time group lessons will give you a taster on what Skiing/Snowboarding is all about, you will learn lots, fall lots and laugh lots! Groups lessons for people that have skied before are good lessons if you want to improve your technique and take part in exercises to take away and practise in your own time, you also get to meet new people and have fun working in pairs or groups. You book this on the day. Private lessons (1hr or 2hr): Private Lessons are the ultimate way to improve your on-snow skills; available for any ability level, your instructor will assess your level and tailor make your lesson to exactly what you want to achieve and provide feedback specific to your needs and goals. We can also split the lesson 50/50 between two younger children if needs be. Additional people in your private lesson are charged at $35 per person per hour. You can pre-book private lessons. Under 7 yr olds private lesson (0.5hr): A shorter lesson for kids under the age of 7.

Processing Fee: There is a 2% credit or eftpos fee.
