Iwalk 2016- Ifast Marching 6,045Km for Charity in Australia3
Marching 6,045km for Charity in Australia iFAST Corp brought its largest ever contingent, consisting of 76 employees, wealth advisers and directors to Oxfam Trailwalker Brisbane, as part of its iWALK Initiative (“iFAST Wealth Advisers Lead Kindness Initiative”) What started as a challenge issued by a few extreme sports veterans in iFAST Corporation Ltd. (“iFAST Corp”) in 2011 quickly engulfed others who were new to this type of endurance sports. From sending one team of four employees in 2011 to tackle Hong Kong’ mountainous terrain as part of Oxfam Trailwalker, this year’s contingent from iFAST Corp to Oxfam Trailwalker Brisbane was its largest ever at a total of 76 walkers. Over the 17-19 June 2016 period, the 76 walkers achieved a magnificent feat of covering a total of 6,045km in Brisbane! This year, iFAST Corp decided to spread the joy and excitement over endurance sports to raise funds for charity with the wealth advisers using its Business-to-Business (B2B) platform. Over 5,500 wealth advisers from 170 financial advisory companies, financial institutions and banks use the B2B platform across iFAST Corp’s regional markets. A total of 76 walkers, including 40 wealth advisers and two directors from iFAST Corp’s board of directors took the leap of faith to travel to Brisbane, with many wanting to kill two birds with one stone: challenge themselves physically and mentally for an endurance event, and raise funds for the causes Oxfam Trailwalker supports. Oxfam Trailwalker Brisbane o ers two distances to participants: 60km and 100km. 11 teams consisting of 44 walkers took on 100km (which has to be completed within 48 hours), while 8 teams with 32 walkers participated in 60km (which has to be completed within 24 hours). -

OTW2019 Booklet ENG Online Outline.Indd
Foreword Ordinary People doing the Extraordinary Have your ever imagined that the people around you every day, whether they are chefs, teachers, shoemakers, or domestic helpers, are talented experts? Incredible people in our midst, fulfilling countless legends; these people include our enduring Oxfam Trailwalkers (OTW). They are determined to thrive, humble yet extraordinary, truly admired by all of us. The hardest challenge along the 100 km trail is not the rugged path, but four people working together unceasingly and unwaveringly within those 48 hours. The trailwalkers would have gone through rigorous training, meticulous planning and close communication with each other before being able to reach the finish line. These bittersweet experiences are just like what we have encountered in our lives. To make the OTW a success and even better every year takes great teamwork. Last year, we were happy to have the support of 5,000 walkers, 3,000 volunteers, over 38,000 donors, more than 5,000 support team members, and close to 20 sponsors. Since 1986, Hong Kong has seen over 100,000 people participate in the OTW and raise over HK$600 million. It originally started as a city-wide event and has now become an international one, with 14 regions taking part this year, including Korea, Australia, India, Spain, Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, and New Zealand. The effort and perseverance demonstrated by our walkers, volunteers, and support teams, echoes with our determination to fight against poverty, growing with the support of the people to forge head with our anti-poverty, advocacy, humanitarian, and education programmes to achieve our goal of creating a world without poverty! See you all at the starting and finishing lines on 15-17 November! Stephen Fisher Acting Director General Oxfam Hong Kong 1 2 A MESSAGE FROM AIA, PRINCIPAL SPONSOR 2019 is the fifth consecutive year that AIA is serving as the Principal Sponsor of Oxfam Trailwalker in the name of “AIA Vitality”. -
