AUTUMN 2017 / INCLUDES COMPLETE TITLE LIST Welcome to the Glitterati Autumn Catalog! We love autumn and the books of the season because they inspire a visual awakening that mirrors the excitement of the new season itself. This fall, as always, we try to be as innovative and creative about the way we produce and publish our books as our authors and artists are ingenious in inventing them in the first place, hopeful that this carefully curated list shines. Our subjects run the gamut: Reveling in the star-power of one of the world’s greatest icons, Elvis, and the never-before-recounted reminiscences of generosity by his friends and collaborators; continuing the wonderful documentary work of the singular photographer Jean-Pierre Laffont, this time focusing his camera on New York City and what he’s recorded there over the past 60 years; greeting cats who work in bookstores and have more friends than most humans; debuting fine art paintings that have inspired collaboration with some of the greatest fiction writers of our time; spotlighting gorgeous collectible jewelry from the world’s largest collection, never before documented in one volume; entering the formerly private studio of world famous fine artist Sophia Vari, who brings us up-to-date with her illustrious career; an inspired visual presentation of the oxymoronic spaces, “luxury pieds- a-terre” by a designer recognized as the leader in this design category; exploring the implications and considerations of private versus public with a photographic essay by an artist whose settings and subject are both au natural; and rethinking our most intimate environments through the work of an interior designer of small spaces, showing how she made a masterpiece of her own small environment through innovative use of color, texture, utility, and scale. With the holiday season upon us, there is a book here for every reader or aficionado of virtually any subject, either for ones’ self or as a gift. And every one of these books represents our continuing commitment to the best in illustrated publishing, filled with exceptional content, designed and manufactured with an attention to detail unmatched in the industry, and devised to be as glamorous, clever, and as innovative as the words and images they contain. We hope they bring a fresh approach and vision to the season of celebrations. Enjoy. —Marta Hallett Publisher Cover image from New York City Up and Down; facing page image from Blue Suede Shoes New Titles 4 Images from Schreiner 5 New Titles Blue Suede Shoes: The Culture of Elvis Thom Gilbert Foreword by Kim Novak This book is unlike any other Elvis book: Here are fans and admirers reporting to all of us who are fans and admirers on a heretofore unexplained aspect of The King, providing an all-access behind-the-scenes pass to the private world of Elvis Presley, capturing stories and photographs of artifacts that were so generously given to fans and friends by Elvis himself, during his lifetime.
