PRESS RELEASE Rockers & Riders Private View: Thursday 27th November 2014, 6 – 9 pm Including a book signing with Charley Boorman Exhibition dates: Thursday 27th November – Wednesday 27th November 2014 Venue: Ransom Gallery, 105 Pimlico Road, Chelsea, London, SW1W 8PH ansom Art will celebrate biker culture in a group exhibition of Art and Photography by Terry O’Neill, Douglas Kirkland, Conrad Leach, Nick R Clements and Paul D’Orleans. Charley Boorman will be attending on the night to sign an illustration of his book: The Long Way Down erry O’Neill is one of the world’s most collected photographers whose work hangs in national art galleries and private collections worldwide. For over six decades, he has photographed the frontline of fame, from the greats of screen and stage to presidents, prime minister and rock stars including Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Amy Winehouse, Audrey THepburn and Brigitte Bardot, as well as every James Bond from Sean Connery to Pierce Brosnan. Douglas Kirkland was born in Toronto Canada. He joined Look Magazine in his early twenties, and later Life Magazine during the golden age of 60’s/70’s photojournalism. Among his assignments were essays on Greece, Lebanon and Japan as well as fashion and celebrity work, photographing Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlene Dietrich among others.His photography has been exhibited all over the world. Conrad Leach attended the Ravensbourne College of Art and Design. After 15 successful years in the fashion industry, Leach began painting full-time in 1997. His first solo show, Players, at APART gallery in London, brought him great acclaim, and he was subsequently artist in residence for Louis Vuitton/Celux gallery in Japan for 5 years. In 2005, he painted a portrait series of Norwegian cultural icons for the Grand Hotel in Oslo; his portrait of Henrik Ibsen is now used as visual identity by the Ibsen Museum. In 2008, he showed a series of large-scale motorcycle related painting for the Legend of the Motorcycle Concours in Half Moon Bay, CA. Nick Clements is a photographer and short-film maker whose dynamic and elegant images offer a unique approach to contemporary style. Paul D’Orleans is editor of the online magazine Oily Rag and his website is The Vintagent. He is currently a consultant for Bonhams auction house, and writes full-time for magazines such as Cycle World, Men's File, The Automobile, CityBike and Café Racers. ansom Gallery was founded by Mark Ransom in 1990 with two exhibition spaces situated in the heart of the Design district in Chelsea.
