Bamandongri Railway Station is in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. It serves Ulwe Node to Nerul & Belapur. The station consists of 2 platforms . Pre-engineered steel structures were found to be the best option for the fast execution of the project, this was one of the most important criteria for the success of the project. Fabrication of the said pre- engineered structure was carried out under Controlled Environment (Factory Fabrication) in order to ensure standardization of quality and efficient site management during construction . THE CHALLENGE The notice for constructing such a station in a very short time frame came to INSTEEL suddenly as a subcontract. Insteel mobilised structural designers, Tekla Modellers and a workshop and site fabrication and erection team in 2 months, and delivered the entire project including roofing in 6 months time, well before the inaugural.
