Obviously the committee were extremely disappointed with the stance taken by the Auckland Cricket Board but we had no choice but to accept the decision made and start planning for the 2016-2017 as a Community Club. We are confident we can make the necessary changes required and return the club to Principle Club status in the not too distant future.

On a more positive note I would like to congratulate our Junior Skills Co-ordinator and Life Member Mark Benefield who received national recognition for his 18 years of voluntary work for the Ellerslie Cricket Club.
