ABOUT THE FESTIVAL (Legend/History/Myth) The history of the church starts with the stone laying of the church on 1929, October 8, the remembrance day of Kolady David Kor Eppiskoppa. On 23 April 1930, St. Moran Mar Baselious Geevarghese Dwitheeyan Catholic Bava inaugurated the temporary Kudasha of the church. The main Thronos is dedicated to St. Geevarghese Shada and Northern Thronos is dedicated to Mother Mary and Southern Thronos is dedicated to St. Thirumeni. In the beginning this church was a part of Arthattu Kunnamkulam Diocese. In a short period of time the church grew up into a famous church in Kunnamkulam Bhadrass. In 1986 August 1 this church became independent from Arthattu Kunnamkulam Diocese. Tha first Sunday of August is celebrated as Diocese day in this church. During older days, this church was known by the name St. George Sibla Church. In 2014, this church was reconstructed and on April 22, St. Moran Mar Baselious Paulose DwitheeyN Catholic Bava inaugurated the Kudasha.

Adupputty Church Feast is a grand occasion spread over two days and marked by music and festivities and a colorful Chenda Melam procession in which more than 50 caparisoned elephants participate. It is very famous for the colorful processions with Shinkari Melam Elephants, band sets, Chenda Melam, Shinkari Melam. And of course the fireworks. The Kodiyum Kurisum and the Nercha Oonu is also the inevitable part and worth Kodiyum Kurisum participating. The grand Perunnal feast, a feast for all the local people is by the boiled rice and vegetable Erissery. It is Perunnal feast still a wonder that no crows could be seen at the time of Perunnal feast.
