University Chennai, India 2Assistant professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, S.R.M University NCR Campus, New Delhi, India Abstract The paper introduces an idea which adds itself into contribution of getting best fuel economy of a passenger car when it is running at high speed on a highway. A six speed (forward) gear box is addressed in the paper which is controlled manually and automatically as well. The paper introduces an advancement in manual transmission gear box for passenger cars. Hydraulic circuit is designed with mechatronics point of view and resulting in making the shifting of gear automatically. A computational design is made of the Hybrid Gear Box (HGB) using CATIA P3 V5 as a designing software. A new gear meshing in 5 speed manual transmission gear box which synchronizes with the output shaft of the transmission automatically after getting command by the automated system designed. Parameters are considered on the basis of practical model and is been simulated by using Simdriveline as the Simulink tool of MATLAB r2010a. The mechanical properties of the components of the hybrid gear box is calculated on the basis of the functional parameters and with help of the fundamental and dependent properties formulation. -

Motorsport News September 25, 2020 No. 70/20 Premier One-Make Championship Partners with IMSA and Michelin Porsche Carrera Cup North America to Debut in 2021 Lexington, Ohio, September 25, 2020 – 30-years in the making, the Porsche Carrera Cup North America is scheduled to debut in 2021. The premier one-make race series in the United States and Canada will utilize a combination of the latest yet-to-be-unveiled Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car and MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport Cup N3 racing slick to challenge the best road and street race courses on the continent. As with all national Carrera Cups worldwide, Porsche, through Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA), will manage the single-driver per-entry series. The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) will act as official sanctioning body as well as manage scrutineering and steward on-track activity. Opening its season in March 2021 at Sebring International Raceway, the Porsche Carrera Cup North America will take its place as the pinnacle of one-make cup championships on the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid in North America. Brian Blocker of PMNA has been named the Series Manager by Dr. Daniel Armbruster, CEO & president, PMNA. The inaugural season of the championship will host 16-rounds at eight venues in the eastern United States and Canada. Each 45-minute race will count toward a season-long driver and team championship in each of three classes: Pro, Pro-Am and Rookie. All drivers can contend for Pro class victories but must utilize the newest Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car to do so. -

In addition to an increase in output by 11 kW to 195 kW (265 hp) the 964 Cup had a welded Wilfried Matter roll-cage, a single Recaro race seat with six point safety harness and a fire-suppression system. The suspension was stiffened with shorter springs, Bilstein gas-filled shocks and fully adjustable anti-roll bars front and rear, a modified chassis set-up and the ground clearance was 55 mm lower than on the standard version. Porsche 919 Hybrid Return to top-level sport Porsche is making its comeback to the top-level motorsport arena: with the new 919 Hybrid the sports car brand is sending a platform for pioneering technology to the top category of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with the undisputed seasonal highlight of the 24-hour Le Mans race. Porsche's reputation precedes it at this venue: with 16 overall victories under its belt, the brand holds the record for this, the most famous endurance race in the world. In 2014 Porsche is returning to the top-level class endurance race after a 16-year absence - namely Le Mans Prototypes (LMP1). Matthias Müller, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG explains: "The new and revolutionary efficiency regulations for this class were what prompted us to take this step. In 2014 it is not going to be the fastest contender who is going to win the sports car world championship and Le Mans, but the car that gets furthest with the defined amount of energy. And it is precisely this challenge that the automotive industry has to face. The 919 Hybrid is like a high speed research laboratory and the most complex racing car Porsche has ever built." The new WEC regulations for the LMP1 racing car gives engineers an unusual amount of leeway and demands pioneering technology, such as hybridisation, downsizing engines and consistent lightweight construction. This is all particularly relevant for the development of future generations of factory-spec sports cars. Press Release August 29, 2014 No. M 135/14 FIA World Endurance Championship - LMP1 drivers take a summer break Taking the holiday at full throttle Stuttgart. Despite the FIA World Endurance Championship's long summer break between the races in Le Mans (15th June) and the next outing in Austin, Texas (20th September), Porsche's LMP1 works drivers are not getting bored. In addition to test- ing with the Porsche 919 Hybrid, they have made numerous appearances for the company and indulged their high-speed hobbies. Timo Bernhard's passion is driving Porsche cars – be it for the works team on the track or in a private capacity in rallying or recently hill climbing, too. Two weeks after the 24 Hours of Le Mans, he enjoyed taking part with his Porsche GT3 Cup as the course car in the Rallye Warndt in the German Saarland. With his team-mate Mark Webber he subsequently attended the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, where he naturally also dropped by for the Porsche Supercup. The most successful holiday and family excursion came on 13th July - on son Paul's first birthday, Timo took over- all victory in the 41st Homburg ADAC Hill Race in a Porsche 991 Cup (Typ 991) in Germany. The car is normally driven by Earl Bamber (NZ) in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland for Team 75 run by Timo's dad Rüdiger Bernhard. From 21st to 23rd July, Timo and LMP1 colleagues Brendon Hartley and Marc Lieb were busy testing at Paul Ricard, France, which was followed by a detour for Team 75 Berhard's partici- pation at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, before it was then off on holiday with wife Katharina and little Paul. -
