We are also pleased to have Dr. Iltefat Hamzavi as our Guest of Honour. Dr. Hamzavi is a world- renowned Vitiligo Specialist, with a lot of research on the subject. Sharma Chief Guest Shri Santosh Gangwar, a law graduate from Rohilkhand University, Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), was born on 1st Nov 1948. Shri Gangwar is one of the senior most Parliamentarians in the country, who has represented Bareilly Parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha for the 8th time. During the tenure as a Union Minister, Shri Gangwar has completed more than 8 ½ years i.e. 6 years during the previous governments and more than 2 ½ years in the present government. He was Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas with additional charge of Parliamentary Affairs in 13th Lok Sabha. Prior to this, Shri Gangwar was Minister of State of Science and Technology with additional charge of Parliamentary Affairs in 1999. Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar Shri Gangwar, at his credit, was also the chairman of the PAC i.e. Public Hon. Minister of State for Labour and Accounts Committee. Employment (Independent Charge) Shri Gangwar, in the present Council of Ministers, was holding the charge of Ministry of Textiles (Independent Charge). In the Textiles Ministry, Shri Gangwar focussed extensively on all the thrust areas of textile where the government helped the downtrodden section of the society such as weavers, craftsman, farmers etc. Shri Gangwar paid special attention to North Eastern States and Kashmir, so that the development could be initiated at those places which were ignored by the previous government. Thereafter, Shri Gangwar joined the Ministry of Finance as Minister of State from 5th July 2016 and served till 3rd September 2017, during his tenure he was member of GST Council and was instrumental in successful rolling out of GST in India. He was Minister of State for Labour and Employment (Independent Charge) from 3rd September 2017 onwords in 16th Lok Sabha. At present Shri Gangwar is Minister of State for Labour and Employment (Independent Charge). Shri Gangwar is known for his simplicity, honesty and exceptional accessibility, despite being the union minister. Guest of Honour Dr. Hamzavi earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, in Sociology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Hamzavi received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and graduated with academic honors in a variety of specialty rotations. Dr. Hamzavi completed his residency in dermatology at Wayne State University and then spent time in Europe training at some of the world’s leading skin care centers. In 2001, Dr. Hamzavi completed an advanced one-year laser and photo-medicine fellowship at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Dr. Iltefat Hamzavi, M.D. Dr. Hamzavi is an active clinic researcher and investigates causes and treatments for vitiligo, hidradenitis suppurativa, photomedicine, and other conditions. Dr.Hamzavi also serves as senior staff physician at Henry Ford Health System's Department of Dermatology, and teaches medical students at Wayne State University. He has co-authored over 100 peer reviewed papers which have been cited over 2000 times in highly respected journals. He also volunteers his time with a variety of non-prots in education, civic engagement and bringing attention to debilitating skin diseases. He has served as founding Co-Chair of the Global Vitiligo Foundation and as President of the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation. He sees patients at our Fort Gratiot and Canton locations. Pandya, has been appointed as the Chairman of Central Water Commission & Ex-officio Secretary to the Government of India. He was holding additional charge of the post since November, 2013. Department of Atomic Energy AERB reviews hot water spillage incident at KK NPP Unit-1 (20-May 2014) Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) has reviewed the recent hot water spillage incident at Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP) Unit – 1 which occurred on May 14, 2014. Based on the investigations of AERB at site as well as review by a high level committee of AERB, it is concluded that the incident of the hot water spillage leading to the hot water burn injuries to 3 of NPCIL workers and 3 of the contract workers was during maintenance of a 3-way hot water inlet valve to a heater loop in the turbine building of KK NPP Unit 1 (which was under shutdown during the maintenance period) due to trapped hot water release.

Many states in India are using the coronavirus crisis as an excuse to suspend labour laws and attack workers’ rights. Extensive amendments have been proposed by the central and local governments to lower labour standards. These include extending the number of working hours from eight to twelve a day, normalising fixed-term employment, exempting companies from labour inspections, and suspending the labour laws in order to attract investments. These labour amendments and administrative orders seriously undermine the fundamental principles and rights at work of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and have grave implications on the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining. They were made without genuine engagement and consultation with trade unions in further violation of ILO Convention No.144 on Tripartite Consultation which the Indian government has ratified.
