CANADA’S SECOND LARGEST SKI AREA WINTER 2017–18 SunPeaksResort.com OUR SPECIAL PLACE. BASKING IN 2,000+ HOURS OF SUNSHINE EACH YEAR, IT’S NO WONDER THIS PLACE IS CALLED ‘SUN PEAKS’! Legendary terrain. Sun Peaks’ village is uniquely encircled by three mountains of ski terrain. Trails feed seamlessly into the village, so it’s incredibly easy to sample a huge variety and drop into a restaurant or your accommodation at a moment’s notice. Long cruisers, deep steeps, incredible tree skiing, and an enormous terrain park offer a diverse alpine experience. With 4,270 acres at your doorstep, Canada’s second largest ski area is yours to explore. The best snow, and lots of it. Prevailing storms from the Pacific Ocean rise and cool as they pass over the Coast Mountains and head to BC’s interior region. Our peaks are blessed with heaps of the light, dry, ‘easy-to-ski’ powder for which we’ve become famous. Combine natural powder with our summer grooming strategy, a dedicated team of winter groomers who’ve perfected the art of laying corduroy, and consistent snowfall from December through March, and you’ve got the makings of dream-like ski conditions. WITH 4,270 ACRES OF IN-BOUND TERRAIN, SUN PEAKS IS CANADA’S SECOND LARGEST SKI AREA. Sun Peaks’ master development plan was conceived over 20 years ago and has stood the test of time, transforming a local secret tucked deep in the mountains into Canada’s second largest ski area. Our community has evolved into a robust four season destination with municipal status. There are now over 600 year round residents, an on-mountain school with an enrollment of nearly 100 students, and a new Health Centre slated to open in October 2017. This past ski season, the Laundromat section of steep trails on Mt. Morrisey was completed. This zone now includes eight advanced and expert runs with stunning views of Tod Mountain. Just three seasons ago the backcountry area called Gil’s was brought in-bounds, propelling Sun Peaks forward as the second largest. We continue to receive rave reviews about Gil’s, a powder hound’s mecca and the perfect spot for a backcountry introduction. Camp and tours into this zone are now available through Sport School. Environmental Responsibility In 2004 we became the first all season recreation resort in North America to be certified ISO 14001, for our environmental management system and best practices. We remain one of only a few in North America to have attained this certification and hold this honour. In March 2017, we announced two major multi-million dollar revitalization projects. The Sunburst Lodge at mid-mountain will double in size and offer a newly inspired menu. Bento’s Day Lodge at the base of Sunburst chairlift will increase in capacity by 45% and provide an enhanced casual dining experience. Both locations will be open for the 2017-18 ski season. 4 SunPeaksResort.com SunPeaksResort.com 5 FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS.
