The arlborough Rugby Football Union was formed in 1888 with ansdowne ar officially opened two years later. Notable moments at ansdowne include a victory over the much vaunted French team in 18, defense of the Ranfurly Shield following the famous victory in 17 over an ll lac studded anterbury team, and winning bac to bac national sevens titles in 17 and 17. The” Red Devils” sub union representative side currently wears a red jersey, white shorts and red socs with white tops.

NELSON BAYS SUB UNION

Playing Strip: Blue jerseys, white shorts, blue socks with white hoops (Griffins)

Nelson was host to New Zealand’s first official game of rugby in 1870. Fifteen years later the Nelson Rugby Football Union was formed, becoming the nation’s sixth provincial union. Golden ay otuea operated its own union from 10 until 1 when it joined with Nelson to form Nelson ays. Nelson ays has twice won the N division two competition 1 and 00 and has also achieved wins against touring international sides, Tonga in 1, taly in 180 and a draw with Scotland in 000 . The Sub Union representative team, “The Griffins” continues to wear the Red Griffin logo and play in the lue and hite Nelson ays uniform.

32 33 c n the eent of two or more teams being tied on the same points their positions will be determined in accordance with the following criteria which will be applied in the order in which they appear until the tie is broen

i where any two teams are tied

a the team that won their preious match against each other will hae the higher position

b the team with the higher points differential shall hae the higher position

ii where three or more teams are tied

a the team with the most competition points against the other tied teams will hae the higher position

b the team with the greatest points differential will hae the higher position

iii if the tie cannot be broen by the criteria set out in subclauses i and ii aboe then

5. Defaults

f a member of the udicial Committee or the complaints review officer considers that the automatic suspension imposed under rule 1a) is not an adeuate sanc tion a hearing will be held to determine the appropriate sanction. b) A player temporarily suspended (yellow card) on two occasions in any matches within TRU during a season will be advised in writing that a third temporary suspension in the same season will result in an automatic one(1) match suspension. The automatic suspension is subect to the following

. the player may within 48 hours of receiving notice of the suspension ( but no later) reuest a hearing. The player may not play until either the hearing has been concluded and a decision delivered or he/she is permitted by the udicial committee to play pending a hearing. c) The udicial Committee may in its discretion increase the automatic suspension referred to in (a) and (b) above. d) Rights of appeal exist in respect of decisions of the udicial Committee. The person or organisation appealing must pay to TRU an appeal deposit of 5 within 48 hours of lodging the appeal. f the appeal deposit is not paid within that time the appeal is deemed to be abandoned. The Appeal Committee has the power to order that all or part of the appeal deposit be refunded. e) f there is any inconsistency between what is set out above and the disciplinary provisions in the NR handbook the latter will prevail.

a) All protests and disputes relating to any matter under the Code of thics or these Rules shall be made and lodged in writing to TRU via the operations manager prior to (in the case of a protest) or within 48 hours of the match in uestion (in the case of a dispute). b) ecisions on matters under protest or in dispute will be made by the TRU as expediently as is practicable. Any complaints or citing’s regarding foul play by one player against another during a fixture that has ne undeteted y ath iias must be made in riting n an iia aints r and submitted to the TR office ithin hours of completion of the fiture. The complaint shall be directed to the TR ffice ho ill in turn inform the Complaints Reie f- ficer ho ill establish if the complaint is to be upheld. If the Complaints Reie fficer deter- mines that there are grounds for the complaint the matter ill be passed to the chairman of the udicial Committee for a hearing.
