Three Rivers threeriversnews.com Commercial-News OPINION YOUR LETTERS Harrington will bridge gap, make children the focus To the editor: People often ask me what I am most proud of in my eight years as the St. Joseph County Prosecutor; and I always tell them the same answer, hiring Erin Harrington. In early 2009, I had a number of applicants that I interviewed and knew within a few minutes Erin was the perfect person, not only for my office, but the perfect new addition to the community I’ve called home my entire life. She has surpassed all of my expectations and is now my Chief Assistant Prosecutor. She is the person I count on the most, my confidant, and has a tremendous amount of input on everything we do in the office. As a lifelong member of the Three Rivers Community, a proud graduate of Three Rivers High School, the son of two Three Rivers graduates, the brother of three more, and the nephew of many more, I am so proud of all this community can offer. My mother was a teacher in this district for 31 years and my father served as mayor of the city as well a member of numerous community boards, including a number of years on the school board (some as President), they both loved children and giving back to this great town. Erin Harrington has the same love for Three Rivers; she will bring experience, knowledge, compassion, and education (Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Juris Doctor) to the School Board. It is no secret that this election is important, there hasn’t been a time in my lifetime that there is such a disconnect between the school administration and the community. Erin is committed to bridging that gap and making the children the focus, eliminating politics from the picture, and bringing a genuine love for our school to the board. Her goal is to make sure each student, no matter what their needs are, receives a top flight education in an environment that is welcoming and accepting. Please join me in my support for the BEST candidate on this November’s ballot, Erin Harrington, and elect her to the Three Rivers School Board.
