7. Centre for Development of Communication Skills

Language is essential for expressing ideas, opinions, views, emotions etc. it is an effective means to effective leadership. One of the essential qualities of an effective leader is the command over oral ability in the language of communication. In other words effective oral communication is a key to successful leadership. This centre has been working hard to bring about a sea change in the methodology of teaching, evaluation and designing the language curriculum to suit the various levels of students.  Time Management Inter-Personal Skills  Interview Skills.  Presentation Skills  Big – Fight (Debate)  Just A Minute  Group Discussion  Problem Solving  Communication Skills- Role Model Sessions  Soft Skills  Team Building  Adapting to Corporate Culture

The above activities would provide enough exposure to the student to fit into the grooves. This centre concentrates on improving the soft skills of the budding engineers by formulating and organizing various work-shops. In these workshops, comprehensive and creative topics are chosen and with the help of innovative learning aids workshops are being conducted by eminent speakers from EFLU and British Council. These workshops enable the students to cross the barriers of expression. To enhance the entrepreneurial Skills needed (along with technical Specialization) this centre trains them to appear for a Business English Certificate, by University of Cambridge, UK acknowledged by all the companies worldwide. We start the training in 1st year by allocating extra 2 periods per week in the regular Time Table. We proceed giving necessary training through prescribed syllabus.
