Andrei Arlovski Topples Devin Cole in Inaugural World Series of Fighting Main Event ANDREI ARLOVSKI TOPPLES DEVIN COLE IN INAUGURAL WORLD SERIES OF FIGHTING MAIN EVENT LAS VEGAS, NEV. (Nov. 3, 2012) – Re-born former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski (18-9) of Minsk, Belarus scored a crushing first round (2:37) TKO on Devin Cole (20-10) of Medford, Ore. in the main event of the 10-bout inaugural World Series of Fighting Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight card at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Saturday, Nov. 3, live on NBC Sports Network. In the light heavyweight (205 pounds) co-main event, superstar Anthony “Rumble” Johnson (15-3) of Boca Raton, Fla. put D.J. Linderman (14-4) of Yreka, Calif. flat on the canvas with a hard right hand, earning his fourth consecutive victory by way of first round KO (3:58). The four-bout telecast will re-air on NBC Sports Network tomorrow/Sunday, Nov. 4 at 11 p.m. EST/8 p.m. PST. Arlovski was light on his feet as he and Cole circled around one another in the opening seconds of the bout. As Cole moved forward, Arlovski cracked him with an overhand right that connected on top of Cole’s head and sent Cole to the canvas. Arlovski pounced on his downed opponent and scored several hammer fists before Cole rolled onto his side and the referee stopped the bout. Shortly after the opening bell rang for the co-main event, Johnson landed an accidental groin kick that put Linderman on the mat in pain. After Linderman stood up and the bout resumed, Johnson went on the attack, but suddenly turned to referee Herb Dean, claiming that he had been poked in the eye. Unaware of an eye poke, Dean instructed the fighters to resume their efforts and, shortly after they did, Linderman came forward, only to feel the impact of a straight right hand from Johnson that put Linderman on the canvas face-first and prompted Dean to call an end to the fight. Two-time national Muay Thai champion and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt Marlon Moraes (9-4) of Jupiter, Fla. via Nova Friburgo, Brazil pulled off an upset over former world champion and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Miguel Torres (40-6) of East Chicago, Ind. Moraes consistently beat Torres to the punch while Torres appeared to be gun shy throughout three rounds of action. Moraes scored power shots to the head and landed enough leg kicks to convince two of three judges to give him the nod. The highly-anticipated MMA debut of kickboxing superstar Tyrone Spong (1-0) of Boca Raton, Fla. via Amsterdam, Netherlands lived up to its hype as the 27-year-old came out of the gates launching an all-out assault against Travis Bartlett (7-3) of Bangor, Maine in a light heavyweight matchup. Spong scored a finishing straight right hand that put Bartlett down and out on the floor. Complete World Series of Fighting Results: Main Card: Andrei Arlovski def. Feature Story Bobby Razak Filmmaker Bobby Razak: By Dan Funes , as well as anyone within Mixed Martial Arts, will say that the best thing about the industry is that you are always among friends. Between the city-to-city shuffle, it can be much like a traveling I circus—you see more of people you meet on the road than you do of your own family back home. It’s a stressful life, jumping from hotel rooms to airports, but the personalities we meet, as extraordinary as they might be, help keep us sane and provide a true fraternity. Fans often imagine that that’s the case for the fighters and coaches that make up the sport, but they often forget that, likewise, it’s not easy being a part of the media. Bobby Razak, combat sports’ most regarded filmmaker, may not be a traditional journalist per se, but he travels the same path—in his case, he Fighting traveled across the globe to get one step closer to taking us all behind the scenes into the world of Mixed Martial Arts. Hailing from Tottenham, the most ethnically diverse neighborhood in London, Razak will often pass as refined on his accent alone. However, the motley population didn’t mean that Razak was limited to a soft and culturally padded childhood, it also made for rough times within a harsh reality. to Bring Coinciding with any ideas you might have of enjoying Tottenham’s scenic spots, afternoon tea parties, offering of different restaurants, and countless conversations in exotic tongues (some say upwards of 300 dialects and languages), you would also be wise to make it a careful visit.

FS1 UFC TONIGHT Show Quotes – 9/23/15 BISPING: Barnett Needs To Push The Pace Vs. Nelson Florian: “Uriah Hall Is Too Dangerous To Just Stand and Trade With” LOS ANGELES – UFC TONIGHT host Kenny Florian and guest host Michael Bisping break down the upcoming FS1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT: BARNETT VS. NELSON. Karyn Bryant and Ariel Helwani add reports. UFC TONIGHT guest host Michael Bisping on how Josh Barnett can beat Roy Nelson: “Josh needs to not get hit by the right hand of Roy. He needs to push the pace of the fight, move forward, and push Roy up against fence and brutalize him with knees and elbows like he did with Frank Mir. Most of his finishes came from the clinch position. He finishes fights against the fence. He did that against Frank Mir.” UFC TONIGHT host Kenny Florian on Barnett avoiding Nelson’s knock out power: “Josh doesn’t want to be on the outside where Roy’s right hand can get him. He wants to be on the inside. He’s been busy on the submission circuit. He’s dangerous on the mat and that’s where he wants to get Roy.” Bisping on how Nelson should fight Barnett: “What Roy can’t get is predictable. If he just tries to throw the big right hand, Barnett is going to see it coming. Roy has to mix up his striking. I’m not sure he’s going to go for takedowns. But he has to mix his striking. His right hand and left hooks, to keep Josh at bay.” Florian on Nelson mixing up his strikes: “The knock on Nelson is his lack of evolution.

Introduction The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) started in 1993 as a mixed martial arts (MMA) tournament on pay‐per‐view to determine the world’s greatest martial arts style. Its main draw was its lack of rules. Weight classes did not exist and rounds continued until one of the competitors got knocked out or submitted to his opponent. Although the UFC initially achieved underground success, it was regarded more as a spectacle than a sport and never attained mainstream popularity. The perceived brutality of the event led to political scrutiny and pressure. Attacks from critics caused the UFC to establish a set of unified rules with greater emphasis placed on the safety. The UFC also successfully petitioned to become sanctioned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. However, these changes occurred too late to have an impact and by 2001, the parent organization of the UFC was on the verge of bankruptcy. The brand was sold to Zuffa LLC, marking the beginning of the UFC’s dramatic rise in popularity. Over the next eight years, the UFC evolved from its underground roots into the premier organization of a rapidly growing sport.

25 Pro Fighters, Managers, and Coaches Reveal Their Best Tips to Land a Sponsorship by Solmadrid Vazquez Follow me on Twitter here. Sponsorships can make or break you. The problem is, the process of landing a sponsorship is counter-intuitive. Being a great fighter is NOT enough. I’m sure you’ve seen fighters who land sponsors left and right. What’s their secret? How come they can get 27 sponsors in one day and you can’t even get one freakin’ rep to look at you? What THE hell is going on?! To get to this bottom of this conundrum, I contacted some of the best fighters, managers, and trainers in the game and asked them a simple question: “What is your #1 tip to land a sponsorship?” Each tip has a custom tweet link after it so feel free to share your favorite tips with your followers. Let’s Get Ready To Ruuuummmmbllllllleee!!! Frank Shamrock Frank Shamrock is a retired MMA Fighter. He was the first UFC Middleweight Champion and retired as the four-time defending undefeated champion. He was also the first WEC Light Heavyweight Champion, and the first Strikeforce Middleweight Champion. He was a brand spokesman for Strikeforce and is a Sports Commentator for Showtime. Frank can be found at his site, on Facebook, and on Twitter. My number one tip to landing a sponsorship is presenting yourself properly. Present a long-term consistent growth plan that somebody, or a sponsor, could attach themselves to, so you can show how you will grow together. “Present a long-term consistent growth plan.” Tweet this.
