Description Cleared, sloping lower approaches to Mt. Monadnock are setting for this large, 3-part, white clapboard, gambrel -roofed house (actually "Dutch Colonial" gambrel form), with 9/9 windows prevailing, triangular pediments over windows, and corner porches. Unusual semi- octagonal-shaped dormers on the wing. The carriage house is of similar style and proportions, and was undoubtedly built at the same time by the same architect, John Lavalle, it echos iden tically the semi-circular gable end window (with 2 vertical mullians) of the house, though in the latter the round motive is repeated in semi-circular enclosed entry giving onto south terrace and lawn of tupuse.
