The response to the 2017 Commonwealth Bank Not-for-Profit Treasurers’ Awards was fantastic. We received over 1,300 submissions, accompanied by inspiring and glowing endorsements of our community treasurers.

Not-for-profit organisations are the fabric which holds our nation together. We all, in turn rely heavily on our community treasurers who work tirelessly to ensure that our not-for-profit sector remains well placed to provide assistance to the most vulnerable members of our society.

The Commonwealth Bank Not-for Profit Treasurers’ Awards consist of two categories – providing an opportunity to celebrate the hard work of treasurers across the nation, as well as being a vehicle for community treasurers to share their knowledge and ideas.

Bruce has been able to apply many of the skills from his full-time role as CFO of the Moonee Valley Racing Club to benefit his role as Treasurer of the Mustangs. He views his role as more than just a typical treasurer. As well as performing all of the usual reporting duties, he has prepared and implemented a range of technology strategies to ensure continued financial strength, checks and balances.
