He was a master at, later headmaster of the Diocesan College Letter gives reasons for Long's declining to "do" the next letter for Round Table, which include the need to voice frank criticism of the Government and Hofmeyr's continued membership of the Group while in the Cabinet. He enclosed a copy (now missing) of his ideas on future economic and administrative problems in S.A. written "off the reel" for the Bishop of Pretoria (Rt. Rev.
