Nordwind Airlines Entrusts CF6-80C2 Engines to AFI KLM E&M Nordwind Airlines Entrusts CF6-80C2 Engines To AFI KLM E&M Contract marks further success on Russian market for MRO. Paris, Amstelveen, 20 February 2012 – Russian charter carrier Nordwind Airlines has signed an engine support contract with AFI KLM E&M covering the CF6-80C2 power plants equipping the carrier’s six Boeing 767-300ERs. The agreement covers engine repair and overhaul services as well as availability and lease support. Adapting to the customer’s operational requirements Nordwind Airlines, a relative newcomer to the Russian airline landscape, works with a wide range of tour-operators and was seeking an MRO services provider that could supply competitively-priced services and a spare engine to guarantee its operational continuity. In opting for AFI KLM E&M, Nordwind Airlines has found a reliable partner, able to offer a positive response to its unique operational requirements by releasing and shipping a spare CF6-80C2 engine to the airline’s Moscow facility. Rob Pruim, AFI KLM E&M Senior Vice-President Sales International, said: “We are delighted to sign this contract with Nordwind Airlines. About Nordwind Airlines Nordwind Airlines is a charter airline founded in May 2008 and based at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport. The airline commenced revenue operations in December 2008 with three Boeing 757-200s. Currently, it operates 15 aircraft (eight Boeing 757-200s, six (CF6-powered) Boeing 767-300ERs and two A321s). From Sheremetyevo International Airport and other Russian cities it operates charter flights to several European countries and to Africa and Asia. It also provides wet lease services to other international airlines.
