Oppenheim: the Class of 2015
WEDNESDAY, MAY 31, 2017 IN THEIR FOOTSTEPS: TEAL ALBERTRANI OPPENHEIM: by Carly Silver THE CLASS OF 2015 A daughter of jockey-turned-trainer Tom Albertrani and his wife, former exercise rider Fonda, 23-year-old Teal Albertrani belies her years with her extensive experience in the Thoroughbred industry. She currently is the director of partner relations for West Point Thoroughbreds. Teal, who currently splits her time between Florida in the winter, Belmont Park in the spring and fall, and Saratoga in the summer, got equine experience from a young age. AIt was definitely always horses from the beginning. I guess I was just born into the industry,@ she said. A former assistant to Hall of Famer Bill Mott, Tom Albertrani was recruited to become an assistant trainer for Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum's Godolphin Stable in the United Arab Emirates. Muhaarar=S Early Success for Shadwell Cont
TUESDAY, 19 DECEMBER, 2017 RL: The vibes surrounding the stock by Muhaarar at the foal MUHAARAR=S EARLY sales was incredibly strong and I envision it being the same next year at the yearling sales. The demand for stock by first-season SUCCESS FOR SHADWELL sires is phenomenally strong for some reason and shows little sign of waning, so pinhookers will have a hot commodity on their hands next year. GK: Shadwell signed for one at Goffs (i340,000 colt {lot 575} out of Miss Beatrix {Ire}), and one at Tattersalls (280,000gns filly {lot 983} out of Maakrah {GB}). What attracted you to those two in particular? RL: The Miss Beatrix colt was a standout. He had plenty of scope, but was also particularly athletic with a super walk. He was also beautifully bred, out of G1 Moyglare Stud S. winner Miss Beatrix. The filly was also a beauty, with a fantastic walk and great temperament--which Muhaarar appears to have passed on to the majority of his stock--and also had a super Muhaarar | Shadwell page, being out of a half-sister to Iffraaj (GB) from the family of Cape Cross (Ire).
