4 5 CÓRDOBA & The Aljama Mosque

Just 2 hours from Marbella and a journey through a sea of olive groves, we reach Córdoba, a city trapped in time from the Muslim era with the sheer splendor of The Mezquita. The construction of The Mezquita Aljama of Córdoba began in 785, when Abd-al-Rahman constituted Córdoba as the capital of Al-Andalus.

Built on the base of an old church dedicated to Saint Vincent and then extended over successive periods by Abd-al-Rahman II, Al-Hakam II and Almanzor. This city is truly blessed with wonder.

Less than 1 hour from Marbella between the Grazalema Natural Park, Sierra de las Nieves and Los Alcornocales, you will find Ronda: one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Spain.

The journey to Ronda is an unforgettable experience following a snake curved road that separates the provinces of Málaga and Seville. On a clear day you will be able to take in the magnitude of the Mediterranean Sea, where it enters the Straits of Gibraltar, lying alongside the Andalusian coastline, with the continent of Africa in the background. You are only two hours away from the African continent, so close yet so different. Travelling to Africa through the gateway that is Tangier is an opportunity that must be lived, a truly unique experience during your holiday in Marbella.

As with the rest of our day trips, we will pick you up from your hotel with private transport. We’ll head west to Tarifa, the southernmost city of Europe in the province of Cádiz. From there, the port of Tangier is only 16 kilometres away crossing the Straits of Gibraltar: a bottleneck where the waters of the Atlantic ocean mix with those of the Mediterranean Sea.

From Monday to Friday, enjoy the route of our fishing boat from Estepona to Marbella and back. Experience a 2-hour boat trip crossing the bay of Marbella.

On Sundays, the proposal is extended with aquatic games for all ages, the possibility of a swim in the high seas and a savoury lunch on board the 1pm shift. You can book privately every day. For further information and reservations, please ask our concierge service.

Our 18-hole golf course designed by Dave Thomas is only 20 minutes from the hotel in an area of natural beauty. The exclusive Marbella Club Golf Resort is In the heart of the Costa del Sol; it boasts unbeatable views from the mountains to the Mediterranean, out to Gibraltar and across to the African coastline.

Tee times are from 8:30pm to 3pm in summer and 2:30pm in winter.

With limited play and 12 minutes between tee times, overcrowded rounds are not a concern and morning tee times are guaranteed. Required handicaps: Ladies 36, Gentleman 28. Less than 30 minutes from Marbella we find ourselves in the natural park of ‘Sierra de las Nieves’. Declared by the Unesco as a Biosphere Reserve, it acts as the main reserve for the province of Málaga.

30 31 WALKING ROUTES The King’s Little Pathway

Restored in March 2015, the King’s Little Pathway, formerly a service road and an area visited by pasionate climbers, has now become one of the main tourist destinations in the province of Malaga. The experience offers a guided tour through a rout of 7.7 to 10 km, approximately 3 hours of enjoyment with anecdotes and history of the Natural Park of Gaitanes. This experience requires a minimum age of 8 years.

32 33 WHALE & DOLPHIN WATCHING A Unique and Emotional Experience

At the straits of Gibraltar you will be able to spot dolphins and whales and possibly even interact with them. This expirence can be explored all year round. On the sightseeing trip you can encounter common whales, bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins and striped dolphins.

From the months of April to October the sperm whales usually make an appearance, and from July and August, orcas can also be spotted. Occasionally we are lucky enough to see some common whales, some being the second largest whales after the Blue Whale. These toothed whales often frequent the straits in search of tuna which is a truly breathtaking sight.

Montilla is the centre of this wine region. The winemaking history of this area dates back to the Romans and the and it’s quite possibly the oldest in Andalusia. In this route we will show you the secrets in the elaboration of the two most traditional products of the area; Wine and extra virgin olive oil.

40 41 RURAL ROUTES The Bull Route

Every Wednesday and Saturday from the 18th of March until October you can enjoy the visit to one of the most prestigious bull and Spanish horse breeding and raising farms in Torrestrella.

The visit is suitable for all the family and starts with a nice 700 meters walk discovering the fauna and flora of the andalusian countryside while watching bulls and oxes in freedom. At the bull route, in the best environment you can imagine, open land, and sitting at a confortable grandstand, you will discover the life of these wonderful animals, cows and their calves, mares and foals, oxen and riders and horses that perform a show of cowboy and classic dressage.

Since the Neolithic period Antequera has been a place where civilizations thrived and we invite you to discover this historical and monumental city.

Beginning with a tour through an extraudinary European megalithic landscape, a fantastic World Heritage list Site, built by the first agrarian communities more than 4000 years ago. The tour will also involve a walk next to the Moorish military fortress, enjoying the most beautiful views, with 28 churches, many convents and luxury palaces. We can’t forget the Roman Baths and the Scribes Square. After visiting the oldest Renaissance church in Andalusia, also called Santa María’s Church we will cross the Moorish Wall and discover the old ‘plazas’ and streets from the XVI Century.
