His occupation was a shepherd, herding his sheep on the Hills of Cheviot in Scotland. He emigrated to Canada in the year (1817?) by sailing vessel on the ocean six weeks. Landed at Quebec- sailed up St. Lawrence River into Lake Ontario, Landed at a Port called Coburg, on Lake Ontario, from there he traveled West into the County of Northumberland and Durham (to) Town of South Monaghan where he located 100 acres as a homestead. Built him a log house- cleared several acres. For ten years he worked on his land clearing off- then returned to England for a Partner in Life. ( see Richard Rutherford for full details of text) In this time two of his brothers, James and Walter, had joined him from England. Walter met with an accident which proved fatal and was buried on the homestead- there being no Public Place within miles. James, his other brother, some years after was interred there with several other relations. My Father, who passed away in the year 1852 and Mother in (?) 1856- Both Laid away on the Old Homestead. It makes the Old Home sacred to Memory when we look back and think of the Joys and Sorrows that was spent on the Old homestead Scottish ancestry ------------------- I think the Joseph Rutherford in Cavan, Lot 11, Conc. 10, might be connected to the family for these reasons: - The proximity to South Monaghan - Joseph is listed on this index as having come from Scotland. Produced by Legacy on 11 Mar 2006 Descendants of Walter Rutherford 5 - The date of 1818 on the index indicates Joseph came to Ontario close to the time Richard, James, and Walter arrived. - Richard is listed as having his residence in Cavan in 1823 (on the Land Record Index) -------------------------------- They took in the daughter of Isabella D. Kinghorn (widow of John Kinghorn), stepdaughter to Alexander Anderson.. She was Margaret Kinghorn. Margaret cared for Mary Rutherford who was Richard's daughter. Mary Rutherford was Rebecca Emberson's mother. According to Margaret Emberson's written history, Richard and Jane Rutherford were devout Presbyterians who walked to church in Centreville from their home on the farm. This would have been in the 1830's because they attended there when Mary, their daughter was a baby. James and Rebecca Emberson later lived on the farm. • Brian Wilson's Spacious Estate in West Suburban St
May 24, 1998---- The backyard of Brian Wilson's spacious estate in west suburban St. Charles overlooks a calm pond. A playground set stands near the water. Wilson slowly walks out of the basement studio in the home he shares with wife Melinda and daughters Daria, 2, and Delanie, 6 months old. Wilson squints into the midday sun. He looks at a playground slide. Then he looks at a swing set. Wilson elects to sit down on the saddle swing. In a life of storied ups and downs, Wilson's career is on the upswing. The June release of ``Imagination'' (Giant Records) is a return to 1966's ``Pet Sounds'' in terms of orchestration and instrumentation, with its the ambitious patterns of tympanies and snare drums. But equally important are Wilson's vocals, which are the smoothest and most soulful since 1970's ``Sunflower.'' Wilson, 55, has suddenly defied age. Mick Jagger and Pete Townshend are brittle rock 'n' roll barnacles. Ray Davies and Paul McCartney have matured gracefully. Yet here's Wilson singing with effervescent hope on ``Dream Angel,'' which he co-wrote with his co-producer Joe Thomas and Jim Peterik of Survivor and Ides of March fame. The song was inspired by Wilson's new daughters. They make him happy. He says that is why he is writing happy music. On ``Dream Angel,'' Wilson even returned to the tight, late '50s harmonies of the Dell Vikings (``Come Go With Me'') and the Four Freshmen - happy-go-lucky voices that influenced the Beach Boys when they were young.

And that's the whole reason I started Liberate, it's because when you have a community supporting you, and when you are empowered to work through your anxiety and work on yourself, it takes a lot of that heaviness away. John Boccacino: Well, folks, today on the podcast, we have such a timely guest for our alumni audience. Her name is Liv Bowser, and she is going to talk about mental wellbeing, the mental state that we're all dealing with right now. There's so much anxiety, there's so much uncertainty that comes with life in the year 2021, with the pandemic, with the political landscape. Gamma-ray and Cosmic-ray Tests of Lorentz Invariance Violation and Quantum Gravity Models and Their Implications Floyd W. Stecker Astrophysics Science Division, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD 20771, USA Abstract. The topic of Lorentz invariance violation (LIV) is a fundamental question in physics that has taken on particular interest in theoretical explorationsof quantumgravity scenarios. I discuss various γ-ray observations that give limits on predicted potential effects of Lorentz invariance violation. Among these are spectral data from ground based observations of the multi-TeV γ-rays from nearby AGN, INTEGRAL detections of polarized soft γ-rays from the vicinity of the Crab pulsar, Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope studies of photon propagation timing from γ-ray bursts, and Auger data on the spectrum of ultrahigh energy cosmic rays. These results can be used to seriously constrain or rule out some models involving Planck scale physics. Possible implications of these limits for quantum gravity and Planck scale physics will be discussed. Keywords: quantum gravity PACS: 04.60Bc INTRODUCTION It has been the major goal of particle physics to discover a theoretical framework for unifying gravity with the other three known forces, viz., electromagnetism, and the weak and strong nuclear forces. Such a theory must be compatible with quantum theory at very small scales corrsponding to very high energies. Even the possibly less ambitious goal of reconciling general relativity with quantum theory has been elusive and may require new concepts to accomplish. There has been a particular interest in the possibility that a quantum gravity theories 3 arXiv:0912.0500v2 [hep-ph] 14 Dec 2009 will lead to Lorentz invariance violation (LIV) at the Planck scale, λPl = Gh¯/c ∼ −35 1.6 × 10 m.
