Mary Brown Mary Josephine Brown, 60, Powhatan Point, died Sunday at the home of her son, in Vermilion. She was born March 18, 1931 at Powhatan Point, a daughter of the late John and Anna Kovach. She was a member of the hirst Presbyterian Church at Powhatan Point. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence W. Brown. She was bom Sept. 7, 1886, in St Clairsville, a daughter of the late Henry and Martha Yocum Jones. She was a memberof the Malaga Church of Christ. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Chalmer (Gladys) Hen- dershot of BeaUsville with whom she made her home, Mrs. Charles (Freda) Perkins of Akron, Mrs. Florence Wolfe of Shinston, W. Va., Mrs. Albert (Fanny) Clay of St. Clairsville, two sons, Chester of Akron and Rufus of Beverly, one sister, Mrs. Nettie Hughes of Bannock, one brother, Walter Jones of St. Clairsville, 12 grandchildren, 27 § great grandchildren and two 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Brown; a sis ter, Florence Hume. Surviving are a daughter, Jana Lee Brown of Columbus; a brother, Harry L. Marsh of Rayland and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bauknecht Funeral Home, Shadyside, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Susan Moriarty officiating. Jacobsurg died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1926 in Elm Grove, a daugh ter of the late Roscoe Pelkey and Mary Forshey Pelkey. She was a retired cook from the Hudson and Clarendon restaurants in St. Clairsville and a Lutheran. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Bob and Charles Pelkey; a sister, Margaret Johnson. Surviving are her husband, George M. Brown; daughters, Mary Jean Thornton of Neffs, Betty Ann Knight of Piedmont, and Sarah Louise Richards of St. Clairsville: a sister, Helen Hitchings of Belmont; nine grandchildren, 12 great grand children. and a great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
