November 2010 A faunal study of whiteflies (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) and their parasitoids in Guilan province, Iran Nasrin SHAHBAZVAR, Ahad SAHRAGARD, Shahab MANZARI, Reza HOSSEINI & Jalil HAJIZADEH Abstract The fauna of whiteflies (Hemiptera: Sternorrhyncha: Aleyrodidae) and their parasitoids were studied in Guilan province, Iran. A total of 18 whitefly species belonging to 8 genera from the subfamily Aleyrodinae were collected and identified, of which two species, Bemisia takahashii (DANZIG) and Pealius rubi TAKAHASHI, are newly recorded from Iran. Also, 8 hymenopteran species belonging to 2 genera from Aphelinidae, as well as one species from Eulophidae were reared as their parasitoids. Key words: Aleyrodidae, Aphelinidae, Eulophidae, parasitoids, fauna, new record, Guilan, Iran. 269 © Entomofauna Ansfelden/Austria; download unter www.biologiezentrum.at Introduction Whiteflies are small insects (1-3 mm in body length) belonging to the order Hemiptera, suborder Sternorrhyncha, superfamily Aleyrodoidea and family Aleyrodidae (MARTIN et al. 2000). MARTIN & MOUND (2007) catalogued the whiteflies of the world and listed 1556 species in 161 genera from three subfamilies, Aleurodicinae, Aleyrodinae and Udamoselinae. The subfamily Aleurodicinae is primarily distributed in New World and includes 118 species in 18 genera; the subfamily Aleyrodinae is worldwide in distribution and includes 1424 species in 148 genera, and the subfamily Udamoselinae includes 2 South American species in a single genus Udamoselis (EVANS 2008). The generic classification of the Aleyrodidae is based on the structure of the fourth larval instar, the so-called pupal case, not on the structure of adults. -

The state of public libraries is of the most important indicators of a country. The present research has been conducted with the aim of a comparative study of public libraries status in the counties of Guilan province compared to the standard per capita. The research method is descriptive and the information has been collected through offices inquiry, observation and interviews with the relevant officials, the results of data analysis compared to the standard per capita indicate lower levels of public libraries standards in the counties of Guilan province than the country's standards and require serious consideration and review. In this regard, some recommendations were provides to improve the libraries status. As a result, the construction and building of public libraries in the province has been estimated in the next 25 years to be able bringing it to the standard level with the establishment public libraries. Iranian Journal of Medical Physics Vol. 10, No. 4, Autumn 2013 & Vol. 11, No. 1, Winter 2014, 168-174 Received: November 3, 2013; Accepted: January 16, 2014 Original Article Assessment of Outdoor Gamma Radiation Dose Rates in 49 Cities of Guilan Province, IRAN Sedigheh Basirjafari 1, Saeideh Aghayari 1, Seyed Mohammad Poorabas 1, Hassan Moladoust2, Mohsen Asadinezhad 2* Abstract Introduction Guilan is one of the provinces in North of Iran, with population of 2,480,874 and a total area of 14,042 square kilometers. This study assesses the outdoor natural gamma dose rates in the air of 49 cities in Guilan and calculates corresponding average annual effective dose. Materials and Methods A total of 260 different sample points measurements were carried out. The results include both terrestrial and cosmic ray components of gamma radiation level. Results The outdoor gamma dose rates range from 65 to 127 nSv h-1 with the mean of 94 ± 24 nSv h-1. Conclusion The average outdoor gamma dose rate for Guilan determined in this study is significantly higher in comparison with values reported by UNSCEAR 2000 from different countries with the mean of 59 nSv although in comparison with many provinces of Iran, it is lower. Sc. Student of Environmental Engineering, Department of Environment, University of Tehran Abstract Sea shores of Gilan Province is one off the biggest tourist attractions in Iran. This area have valuable forests and grasslands. In addition it provides significant amount of corps like rice, tea, olive. Considering this facts, environmental protection of this area must be priority for national government. However waste management instruction have been ratified in Iran, there isn’t any specific rules for coastal areas. To obtain rules and instruction in coastal areas it’s necessary to study its current condition. This article describe this situation buy field study of this area. Next to that rules and directive of coastal areas in developed countries studied and main features of this instruction defined. At the last stage current situation of Gilan’s coastal line was studied and finally rules and instruction drafted. Results shows 466 tons of waste is generated in 12 cities of this Province, or 1.7kg of waste per capita in each day. Main consistence of waste are food waste, paper and plastic which include 66, 12 and 14 percent of waste respectively. This lead to chemical formula of C706H1120O360N16S1 and C/N ratio of 44.homeless people and municipality workers separated large amount of waste to sell plastics, papers and glasses, but there is no managed separation. -

Due to undisputable effect of tea industry in the livelihood and the economy of Northern cities and people of the region, the Fund’s performance gains its importance. So in this paper, we investigate the impact of tea crop insurance in development of tea industry and factors effective on this impact. Our main question to be answered is that whether, in the present situation, tea crop insurance has been able to wield its role in the development of tea industry. To provide an answer to the question above, we employed variety of qualitative and quantitative methods of research. Quantitative method has been done as survey and our instrument was a questionnaire the questions of which were answered by 200 farmers in Otagvar, Langrood. To achieve a better sample population, we have used the random and cluster methods of sampling. Qualitative method has used the discussion groups with insurance agents in Amlash and Kumleh and interview with experts of Organization for Rural Cooperation -
