The Papillion Landing 55+ Club is not a senior center in the traditional sense. We are a place where adults can enjoy a vibrant retirement filled with activity, the company of great friends, continued learning and opportunities to use their talents to serve others. It operates under the umbrella of the City of Papillion Parks and Recreations Department and the Corporate Board of Directors.

The Papillion Landing 55+ Club has a great group of attendees who enjoy welcoming new faces. If you are new to the area or have never visited our center, please stop by and introduce yourself or give us a call for more information. The Papillion Landing 55+ Club offers a variety of activities and events that are sure to cover your interests. Your visit is guaranteed to be met with a warm welcome and a smile.

“Medicare 101 Sessions”

Lisa Wilsey of Insurance Advisors

The Medicare 101 Presentation has been approved by the Centers for Medicare. Lisa will give a general overview about Medicare parts A, B, C and D, as well as information about Supplemental Insurance Programs. The Medicare 101 Presentation will last about 30 minutes and then the Session will be open for questions. Presentation pamphlets will be distributed. There is no registration required for the Session and it is free.

55+ Club Community Involvement - Child Watch and Crafts

We are collaborating with the Papillion Landing Child Watch to do crafts with the kids who attend Child Watch. Bring your talents to make arts and crafts.

PAINTING AND CRAFTS CLASSES WANDERING FOR THE BEGINNERS AND THE WEDNESDAYS EXPERIENCED

~ EVERYONE IS WELCOME ~ (advanced registration required)

September 1 – Czech & Slovak Museum VARIETY ARTS AND CRAFTS Tour the Czeck and Slovak Educational  Several months in the year, we will introduce a new art or craft project. Center and Cultural Museum and enjoy Kolaches and Coffee. Tour cost is $5. Cost will vary with each project, but all supplies are provided. Lunch at Dragon Café. Bus leaves at  Second Thursday of the month at 12:30 10:45 am. pm or 5:00 pm

 October 14 - Christmas Tree (12:30 pm) September 8 – Book Club and Movie  December 9 – Fabric Birdhouse (5:00 Book discussion at 10:30 am and light pm) lunch at 11:30 am only for those who  Advanced registration is required - call registered and read the book. 402-597-2041 for registration The movie Gold Finch will be shown at 12:00 pm and is open to everyone. CERAMICS  Every other Friday from 9:00 am – September 15 - Canoyer Garden Center 12:00 pm Perennials and annuals, oh my… enjoy  Ceramics - cost is the price of a ceramic walking around beautiful flowers and piece and firing plus a $1 fee per session shrubs. A personal tour of the center will per person to use the ceramic supplies provided at the center. Occasional trips be given. Lunch at El Chicano. Bus to a ceramic store will be planned. leaves at 9:45 am.

ZEN COLORING FOR ADULTS September 22 – Dollar Store and Lunch  Open Coloring is available during all Shop at the new Dollar Store. Lunch at business hours Lil’ Burro. Bus leaves at 9:45 am. PAINTING PICASSOS OF ALL TALENTS

September 29 – No Wandering  Several Friday evenings throughout the Wednesday year at 5:00 pm We will be prepping for our Annual Fall  Canvas and paints, good food, and lots Festival. $10.00  September 17 – Fall Gnome Wandering Wednesdays require preregistration on a first come first serve basis. There is a  November 19 – Christmas theme maximum of 13 people on the bus. No extras  Advanced registration is required - call with your own transportation at this time (unless 402-597-2041 for registration noted). Travelers are responsible for the cost of entry fees, lunch and shopping. We will follow mask requirements per businesses visited.

KEEP MOVING and KEEP STRETCHING For Better Health and Wellness DROP IN CLASSES EVERY TUESDAY & THURSDAY FROM 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM

 Jill & Heidi from the Papillion Recreation Department will be your “motivators”  Have fun and move with enthusiasm through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living  No reservation is needed, just drop in. SilverSneakers with Annie

Did you know Papillion Landing now has a SilverSneakers Class? Every Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Other fitness classes geared towards seniors: Aqua Yoga, Zumba Gold, Movement 4 Life

Attend these classes with a Papillion Landing Membership: yearly, monthly, punch card or day pass. Check with your Medicare Advantage Plan or Supplemental Insurance Plan to see if a free fitness membership is included in your plan.

The Papillion Landing Community Recreation Center is a SilverSneakers and RenewActive facility.

Papillion Landing Free 55+ Club Card

All patrons will enter and exit through the Papillion Landing Main Entrance. All patrons entering the building will need a Papillion Landing Membership Card or 55+ Club Card. Please go to the welcome desk for your 55+ Club Card or see Donna. If you have a Papillion Landing Membership, you do not need a 55+ Club Card. Upon entering the Papillion Landing, the welcome desk staff will scan your Papillion Landing Membership Card or Free 55+ Club Card. Each patron will also check in with a staff member at the 55+ Club.

The 55+ Club is open and we are ready to see all of our members again – we miss seeing all the familiar faces and all the new members we gained at our grand opening in January. Although this is still an “unusual time,” we all need companionship and activities. We are slowly increasing our capacity and adding back our tried-and-true activities. As well as adding new and fun happenings. The more participation we get, the more normal life will seem. Support your 55+ Club – join an activity or stop by for a cup of coffee and some conversation.

 Masks are strongly recommended for patrons who have not been vaccinated  Sanitizing of all surfaces is done on a continual basis throughout operating hours  Capacity is a maximum of 45 patrons
