    56th SOUTH ISLAND PRIMARY SCHOOLS CRICKET TOURNAMENT 7TH – 11TH January 2019 Oamaru, North Otago Oamaru Nobody does it better than LJ Hooker 1 WELCOME A very warm welcome to Oamaru for the 56th South Island Primary Schools Tournament to all the players, coaches, managers, whanau and friends of the 14 participating teams. This is a tournament rich with history and this years addition sees a number of significant changes to the format in response to the new Age & Stage policy implemented by New Zealand Cricket. This is a new era for the tournament, as the shorter formats of the game will be played. This tournament has seen a number of players advance onto 1st Class cricket and International careers and it is likely some of the players playing in this year's tournament will do the same. This tournament is about bringing the best players from each of the districts from the South Island together for a week of competition and for players and supporters to enjoy the great game of cricket and each others company. A massive thank you to all of the volunteers from throughout the North Otago region who have given up their time to enable us to put this tournament on. This includes members of the organising committee, groundsman, ground managers and umpires. Without their help this tournament would not be possible. We are very thankful to all of our sponsors whose generous contributions have provided the necessary financial support required to make the tournament viable.
